And Durant said that it's what they are supposed to write (unreliable) because he didn't come through for OKC.
Thank you. I'm not sure how anyone can hate on Durant. And it is very rare when he does deserve blame.

I dunno. At this point in his career it is laughable that he can still be denied the ball so easily. Where is his mid range post up and fade away jumper? Something so basic and simple would take his game to the next level. I dislike Kobe as much as anyone but you have to respect the work he puts in during the off season to improve his game.

The guy is playing in the 50/40/90 range and leading the NBA in scoring. To knock him is just silly. If you want to say he still has areas of his game that can be improved then so be it. But that's no reason for him to be knocked.

The paper was just poking the hornet's nest. They just wanted to rile him up so that he'd get mad and destroy Memphis in Game 6. But it was still a bush league thing to do. Not smart.

I don't agree with it, but their shouldn't be a big deal because a paper called him unreliable. There professional athletes getting paid millions of dollars, ofcourse people are going to criticize no matter how unwarranted it is.
Durant is probably 1 of my top 10 favorite players, but my biggest criticism of his game is the same one barkley has, he doesn't post up or punish the Tony Allens of the world inside. If he devolpes any post game he'll be unstoppable.

It's easy to deny him the ball because Brooks doesn't run an offense that helps free him up. Even the mostly terrible Randy Whitman knows how to free up Bradley Beal. Brooks needs to be replaced unfortunately.

It also happens that Tony Allen is a hell of a defender, who even managed to play LeBron as well as anyone.

What does the regular season matter? The guy is good but he gets zero criticism. He hasn't won multiple championships or even one. He isn't doing everything he can to get his team to the next level so yes he does deserve some criticism.
This is why I hate OKC because I can't stand the crazy treatment this guy gets. He is a great player but he doesn't deserve the insane amount of respect he gets from the media and most of the fans. Even here on a Suns board plenty of people jumped to his defense. Not to mention bringing up people we can blame instead.
Can you imagine if Kobe was down 2-3 to the 7th seed while shooting something like 40% from the field? After having blown a game tying free throw in overtime? Do you honestly think no one would be criticizing him? And that guy has enough jewelry to fill one hand.

Well first, that's just because Kobe wears a Laker jersey. Second, Durant doesn't have a pattern or history of personal failure. So there aren't going to be many people with itchy trigger finger to tear him apart, like you seem to inexplicably crave. Third, where's the outrage over the lack of criticism the Spurs are getting? They're going to a seventh game against an 8th seed?.

I'm really bummed that Z-Bo isn't going to be playing in Game 7. This could have been an amazing day of basketball today, with three Game 7s in a row and three plausible upsets brewing. But now I just don't think there is any way that Memphis will be able to compete with OKC. They lost their leading scorer and one of their toughest battle-tested guys. Unless Kosta Koufos has the game of his life, how are they going to score enough to keep up?
I'm not saying that the NBA made the wrong ruling by suspending Randolph. I'm just saying that it sucks as a fan not to see them go for it in Game 7 at full strength.

I wouldn't go that far. In the heat of battle, you get hit, you hit back. Easier said than done, carester.

Durants MVP may be tarnished if he gets knocked out of the first round.

Man, effing OKC. I'm bummed out. It was a pretty close game for most of it. If MEM had Randolph, who knows what would have happened....

We really need the old site to point to this one but I doubt that will end up happening. It is a shame because it was a big community that has now been scattered and will probably never be brought back together.

Pfff. Durant 33 points, 12-18FG, 5-5 3pt, 4-6FT.
Westbrook 27-16-10, 10-16FG, 2-2 3pt, 5-6FT.
Overall OKC shot 61%FG, 60% 3p (11-19), 83%TF (25-30). Outstanding anytime, let alone a game 7.
