Could someone link the press conference when they get a chance?
I think I'm officially very excited about this draft. I made an extremely dumb comment about Ulis a month ago comparing him to IT3 and saying they were similar players but that was before I got into really looking at him as a player. I can't tell you how excited I am that we drafted him. Not as excited as Bender but I was really happy when I got home last night and saw we had taken him in the 2nd round. I'll get hammered for saying this, but he runs the pick-and-roll just like Chris Paul. I wish I had some fancy video evidence to back that up but my hunch is by next Christmas you'll see a dozen think pieces by Lowe, the Starters, and/or the Ringer showing gifs of Paul in the pick-and-roll and comparing them to Ulis. Especially with 2 long PFs that can both shoot to run it with.
McDonough was just on the radio telling fans that we haven't seen the real Brandon Knight yet. That's all well and good, I still expect him to be traded by February.

I've been saying Ulis is a 5'10 chris paul. He's very very good, absolutely a true point guard.

Injuries. The link is up on arizonasports.com under the Suns section if you want to listen. I haven't heard the Watson interview from today but I"m not sure I'm in for the whole "trust the program" and "love" spiel and whatnot right now.

I imagine he's inferring he hasn't been fully healthy

Would have been an amazing question.

And the truth is that it's indeed been the case. But the tempatation to say just disregard the point is strong.

You know what, Amare has crossed my mind as well and despite the general aversion to allegedly nostalgia-induced signings on here, he could be a nice addition given our current situation.
Would give Dudley a call as well.
The rest of the list is indeed well adapted to the need at hand, mostly, maybe with the exception of Marvin Williams. He is peaking as a role player, will be sought after and there is no reason for him to come here on the cheap. I guess West is going only to contenders.
Just don't spend on Barnes, Terrence Jones and the likes, please. I guess after what the draft has delivered the probability of this happening has decreased.

Would give Dudley a call only if we offload Tucker.
Marvin Williams is clearly the best fit. I'm hoping he's the first guy we call.
Sullinger wouldn't be a bad fit stylistically, given that he is nothing like the other PFs we have on the roster. Doubt we could get both him and Mirza, but then the question becomes, is Telly our starting PF? Dude can't D. The questions are whether he fits from a character perspective and whether he'll be too expensive. If we could unload Chandler, we could use Mirza as a back up all along the front line from 3-5, as he's about equally bad defensively at each position.
Dwight Powell as an RFA is a nice option. Fits the age of the rest of the guys. Could start at the 4, back up the 5, but ultimately shouldn't need a ton of minutes, nor should he be too expensive.
Amare is more of a 5 than a 4 at this point in his career. I'd be interested, again, only if we could unload Chandler.
I'll be interested to see what the market for Chandler is after Horford, Whiteside, Noah, Dwight are all taken. Given that Noah's being offered the max (barf), I imagine Tyson's contract has some value.
Would also like to see if Jonas Jerebko could be available in trade. With only one year left on the deal, he shouldn't be too hard to get, but Ainge is in the business of sticking it to counterparties, so I wouldn't hold my breath.
Some other guys I'd look at to fill the void at PF in trade are Taj Gibson, who doesn't appear to fit what Chicago is doing, Kyle O'Quinn, though I doubt Hornacek would be interested in taking anyone from this roster in trade, and Channing Frye, who didn't play at all in the finals and whom the Warriors might be happy to cast off to get out of his salary. Only issue with Frye is that we couldn't then sign Teletovic, as they would be completely redundant.

The complaints we've had about AASE over the last year plus aren't about his quickness or hang time, they're about his decision making. I don't see how that can be explained away as an injury.

I'm not a big parsons fan, and I think it'd take the max to get him. Powell I could be ok with, my only worry is he's a young guy still developing as well and we don't need to add more developing bigs to our rotation. I'd avoid Derrick Williams for that reason too. I'd rather have a vet that is solid but doesn't require substantial minutes. Or if we can add a younger guy that plays the 3, I"d happily offload tucker.
Batum is really the only big time free agent I'd support pursuing. Outside of the obvious but impossible Durant acquisition. If Batum has no interest I'd just add a veteran 4 and take our current team into the season, assuming we don't make any trades. I'd be open to moving knight.
