Here is a question a pose to the group:
I think there is a good-great chance the "top 8" (Embiid,Wiggins,Parker,Exum,Smart,Vonleh,Randle,Gordon) + Stauskas,Harris,Levine,Saric are gone in some order in the top 12 picks.
So what 2 players what you eye next for Phoenix (I say two because Minnesota is in front of us)
I would probabaly go Kyle Anderson....T.J. Warren. Elfried Payton is very interesting in a rajon rondo sorta way as well.

Better be a very rich man. Ariza isn't even close to being a star. His athleticism and spring never did live up to the potential. It was too bad he left the Lakers; he worked well in that system with low pressure on him to have big individual games.

It probably won't, but if this caused him to slip to 14 I would be thrilled.

What does this do to Randle's likely draft spot? Will teams pass on him now, or is this such a temporary thing that nobody will mind? Randle's the fat Melo-y one right?

Stauskas is convinced he wont get past PHX at 14. Horny 2.0!

Not very high at all. Yeah, I was kind of surprised by Ryan's comments. Ugh.

Interesting tidbit from the latest DraftExpress extended mock draft:
Porzingis has reportedly received assurances he'll be selected in the top-15 of the draft as enticement to stay in at the June 16th deadline according to sources close to the situation, and still needs to decide if he wants to accept that. He would likely stay another year in Spain and come over in 2015.

I'm done with my Sarver-inspired hopeful mock draft for the Suns' picks:
#14: $3,000,000 cash considerations (yesss!!)
#18: packaged in trade for future 2nd rounder
#27: draft-and-stash Euro
#50: little brother of talented prospect

Leaving aside philosophical issues about promises, I wouldn't complain if he ended up in Phoenix. It's looking more and more like #14 doesn't get you any of the year long top7+Gordon-LaVine-Stauskas-Harris, maybe not McDermott-Saric either. If that's the case Porzingis wouldn't be a bad consolation price, and it would probably
allow us to use the three picks this year. Porzingis, Nurkic and TJ Warren could be a nice bounty when all is said and done.
Two weeks feel like a century.

Oh, and if I were Porzingis I'd take the promise and stay. Cajasol (and most ACB and european teams) is not exactly a model of roster or coaching consistency, and it is one thing to come out of nowhere and surprise, but next season he'll have to perform with consistency to keep or improve this bubble lotto status. Even if he fell this draft, maybe that could turn out for the better. I wouldn't complain if I landed in Phoenix, Boston, Chicago or OKC.

Can the Suns draft Nurkic? That's a little difficult to see with Alex Len on the roster. Nurkic looks better than Len, but I can't imagine Ryan undermining his first pick like that.
Also, it feels like even if the Suns did like Nurkic, they would be better off just trading for Enes Kanter.

I could see the Suns drafting Nurkic and I don't think it means it's undermining the Len pick.

Nurkic and Len can't play on the court at the same time. And it's not like Nurkic is Joel Embiid. So I'm not sure how drafting Nurkic wouldn't be an indictment on Len.

Their skillset is not redundant at this point. Nurkic is a low post beast and a banger, and Len seems comfortable in the high post and with his face to the basket. I don't know if playing them at the same time would work, but I wouldn't rule it out, at least in spurts above all if Len regains his quickness.
