It's official: Lebron is a Laker. Now let's see what kind of team they put around him.

I was just hoping that somehow he would end up on the Warriors.

I get the cache of the Lakers and his brand, but I can't see the team as currently constructed getting past the Ws or Rockets. Even adding Kawhi or Cousins, it'd be questionable.

Whelp. Most expected it, kinda figured it was a lock after Magic came out and said he'd leave if they didn't get someone within the next 2 years, he's got too much of an ego to step down like that.
Now I can fully hate on this man until the cows come home because he's a Laker, fuck that team, those fans, and LeBron. Cleveland means so much to him that he's walked away twice.

Anybody who is hoping that the Suns will be a playoff team next year now needs to factor in that the Lakers will probably be in the top 8. I could imagine some playoff teams (Portland? San Antonio? New Orleans?) taking slight steps back, most notably San Antonio if they trade Kawhi for future assets. But the West is going to be a bloodbath where like 12-13 teams are legit trying to make it into the playoffs. Even most of the non-playoff teams like Dallas (Doncic, Jordan) are getting a lot better.
I still think we will be one of the worst teams in the West next season, record-wise. Not because I think we have crappy players or lack talent, but because we'll be so young and inexperienced.

I wonder what the reaction from Cleveland fans will be. I know this is handled better than The Decision, but it's hard to get dumped by your franchise player two times. I hope Dan Gilbert posts another whiny letter in Comic Sans.

I thought you were an eternal optimist?

Maybe the fact that he signed for 4 years instead of a 1+1 deal means that he knows he is breaking down phisically and he just wanted to cash in.

Get out the lighter fluid.

Gonna be fun to watch LeBron in the West now...the East got even more irrelevant. Boston, Philly, Toronto, and ....

I think 1-16 seeding of the playoffs will be coming sooner rather than later. Not as a result of LeBron's decision per se, but the East looks even weaker than normal. Which is saying something.

The East is going to be a JOKE next year.

Do it for next year, so Toronto can face James in the playoffs anyway. That would make my day

Yeah, it's really just Boston vs Philly for the East now. I like Boston personally because of their shooting, D, depth, and coaching. Boston is probably Finals-bound for years to come.
But there's never been a better time to be a mediocre team in the East. You could get to the ECF with a 45-win team probably.
What playoff seed would the 2018-19 Suns be if they played in the East? 5? 6?

Maybe there was a reason Williams fell as far as he did...? These NBA GM's while often being called morons, know a whole lot more than we do.

I'm not sure I could hate a team more than I hate LA and now the best player signs there?
