Has anyone been as irrelevant as Jabari the last 4-5 years come back to play a significant role?
Does PJ count?
Did PJ play in the nba before going overseas?
I feel like with PJ it just took him a long time to get himself to nba level. Jabari was a high level prospect that scored 20 points a game and faded away due to injuries. He’s played 25 games in 3 years(0 last year).

Yeah obviously they are quite different in terms of trajectory. Think PJ was a second rounder that played sparingly before going to Europe where he continued to hone his game so definitely not a parallel.

Not opposed to giving Jabari Parker a look with a training camp deal but if we are interested in signing him with the intention he could be a rotation guy then why not just re-sign TJ Warren then?
I'd much rather keep Warren. His defense will likely to be an issue for Vogel, but he had spells in the post season where it was actually pretty decent.

In Aytons neck of the woods, but I don't see him anywhere.
He’s taking the pics

Jabari Parker is more washed than CP. Stanley Johnson is an ok pickup for 7-8th man but wouldnt want him as main piece of rotation.
Jones gonna have to find a way to add more substance than this. The waiting for good FA to fall down the vine is risky and not sure you can add 3-4 guys in the rotation like that which is what we need.
Not using the MLE last year was a critical mistake by JJ. I understand he didnt know it would be taken away this year but end of the day you have a title contending team, adding a 12 mil a year player or two 6 mil a year players is a must. Not that Bruce Brown is an amazing player but he definitely contributed for the Nuggz, more than anyone we had on our bench. Bruce Brown would arguably been our 3rd best player (Ayton doesnt count and CP is a total shell). I respect CP but guy was totally washed this year, struggled to even bring the ball past the half court line.
Jones tenure as GM has highs and lows but some of those lows are critical mistakes.

I hope Parker is just a workout for a guy trying to get some buzz and maybe a camp invite somewhere. I can't see him being a realistic option.

We can’t workout free agents that were on nba teams last year right now, so this workout is just to see if we can find some diamonds in the rough. Plus we can carry 21 players on the roster through the summer into training camp. If anyone shines in the workout, give them a non-guaranteed minimum deal. If we want depth these are the kinds of guys we need to find.

Attention, water boys and facilities workers in the building. In the interest of fairness and upward mobility, walk on tryouts will be held as we scrape the barrel for those 'willing FAs' open to taking the minimum. Next, we'll be rousting the elderly from local homes; canes, walkers, wheel chairs not considered an obstacle. Finally, potted plants will also be considered in light of the fact that we almost have one already.

Good point. Parker looked slightly serviceable with the Celtics, which was his last stint IIRC, but I don't think that he is any better than TJ. Both have ridiculous injury issues.

We're in championship or bust mode. I don't think a guy who's played 60 games over the past 4 years is gonna surprise us as a rotation guy. At least Stanley Johnson's carved out his niche in the NBA and has real experience to bring to the table. Just trying to manage expectations here. We don't need reclamation projects with major question marks.

1000x this…. Don’t need to be hobbling across the finish line every season. It’s why we parted ways with CP3

Stanley Johnson. Winslow's skillset is better, but he is never healthy. You're setting yourself up for failure if you bring Winslow in expecting him to actually stay on the court.

Probably not, but it doesn’t hurt to try him out. I applaud them for looking. There’s someone that wasn’t in the nba last year that can probably help a team. Would love for the suns to be the team to find them.

He’ll always have Jeremy to come and water him

4. Phoenix Suns
In: Bradley Beal, Jordan Goodwin, Isaiah Todd
Out: Chris Paul, Landry Shamet
Quick take: At the time of the trade agreement, there were seven players in the league set to make more than $50 million in both 2024-25 and ’25-26. The Suns now have three of those seven players, adding Beal (owed $208 million over the next four years) to Devin Booker ($260 million over the next five) and Kevin Durant ($154 million over the next three). All three of those guys can create their own shot, but the Suns lost a lot of playmaking by trading Paul for Beal, who will need to defend much better than he has in recent years.
* Beal (27.0 and 5.5), Booker (26.6 and 5.6) and Durant (27.8 and 5.8) are three of the 11 players who’ve averaged at least 25 points and five assists over the last five seasons. The Mavs (Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving) are the only team with more than one.
* This season, Beal had an effective field goal percentage of 55.1%, the second-best mark of his career and up from 49.2% in 2021-22. That was the 13th-biggest jump among 136 players with at least 500 field goal attempts in each of the last two seasons.
* Beal has taken 26% of his shots from 3-point range over the last three seasons, down from 36% over his first eight. Among the 212 players with at least 200 total field goal attempts from outside the paint this season, Deandre Ayton (7.33), Durant (1.42), Booker (0.98) and Beal (0.98) ranked first, ninth, 13th and 14th, respectively, in their ratio of mid-range attempts to 3-point attempts. The Suns ranked last in the playoffs with just 9.4 3-pointers per game.

Its always so funny to hear national medias take on the suns and/or their players. Always way off the mark.
I love CP but guy isnt a playmaker anymore and honestly hes at level of player coach right now. Basically hes Udonis Haslem.

CP3 can still run an offense and distribute the ball at a high level. That is what they are talking about.

I dont know man. CP struggles to bring the ball up, has no legs most nights and grinds your offense to an insanely slow pace. Dont think its a high level anymore but just my opinion.
