He's more of a tenor.

That Tatum clip, he's jumping forward on each shot. That is not a good sign. When you jump on a 3, you should land in the same place where you took off.

Except his shooting form is 100x better than Lonzo Ball.

No one is defending him here. Let's not forget his 3 pt % was less than Josh Jackson, a guy pretty universally seen as a shaky shooter.

There is a lot of misinformation going on right now, and it's tough to figure out what is real. Gambo and Dave were just wondering if it was the Suns that gave Jackson the promise, so they don't know for sure.

I still think that the hand ringing over Lavar is silly and he's a non issue to teams. I just can't see him being a big part of anyone's life, so he's not going to upset what's happening in your life right now. I heard Doug Franz say this morning that he HATES Lavar. What?!? He doesn't even know Lavar Ball. How can you say that?

If the Lakers gave Jackson the promise, then who do the Sixers take or do they trade out?

Nope, kid cant stroke it, its like here with Booker, he hasnt shot the greatest % just yet, but you know he can do it, shot is too good not too. Same for Tatum IMO.

Except Booker at least put up good shooting numbers in college. Tatum has always been seen as a shaky 3 pt shooter. I think questioning his ability to hit the NBA 3 right now is perfectly reasonable.

I keep working through the scenarios in my head. It's very fun to speculate, but it still comes down to we either get Jackson (if we gave the promise), Ball or Fox (if one of the teams ahead of us gave the promise), Tatum (if we secretly really like him), or we trade down.

To me, getting a new starting PG or trading down are still the most exciting possibilities.

If it's Fox, you would prefer to trade down?

That's the scenario in my sig, but I like Fox better than I did back then, and I'm not so sure that we can trade down for 2 good players. The guys I like are rising.

We're apparently working out Jackson tomorrow. And someone close to the Lakers denies the Lakers promised Jackson. I think Jackson is still very much in play.

I just cant see Magic passing on the box office pick in his back yard. I think there is a very real possibility Jackson is there at 4, because I just dont see the fit in Philly with Simmons manning a simliar position.

Maybe they see Jackson as the defensive assignment on pgs. We know that with Simmons reportedly being 7 ft now, he's not guarding them, but will play pg on offense.

It looks like Jackson did not cancel his workout but Fox did. Jackson is supposed to be in tomorrow so we'll know for sure one way or another soon.

Philly is just so lacking in guards and shooters. I don't see them taking Jackson. Basically they have:

Ben Simmons 6'10 240 can't shoot (possibly 7'0)
Dario Saric 6'10 220 shot 31% from 3
Joel Embiid 7'0 250 and maybe their best shooter (37% from 3)
Robert Covington 6'9 215 average shooter (33% last year)
Jahlil Okafor 6'11 275 can't shoot.

Those are probably their 5 best players and they're all mostly bigs. Covington, Saric, and Simmons are combo forwards, but I don't think you'd want any of them defending guards.

Their guards are:
T.J McConnell
Gerald Hendreson
Nik Stauskas
Timothe Luwawa

None of those guys are starters and only stauskas can shoot.

My point is Jackson just adds to their stockpile of bigs. He fits the upper group more than the lower group. If they think he's significantly better than the Fox, Smith Jr, Monk group, then I guess it makes sense to draft Jackson, but they'd really need to make some trades. Start Jackson/Simmons/Embiid at 3/4/5 and move some combination of Okafor/Saric/Covington for guard help.

I don't get it either with Jackson. Fox, Ball or Monk would make more sense IMO but they're intent on Simmons playing point ala Giannis. I'm sure they like the idea of Simmons, Covington, Jackson, Saric and Embiid but is that realistic?

I think they end up trading down from 3. Someone who wants fox or jackson will trade up to 3. That lets philly take smith or monk and pick up another asset. Monk just makes too much sense for them. A Monk/Simmons/Embiid trio could be very good. Add another shooter in the back court(Luke Kennard?) and they'd have something special brewing.
