For real though, we could really use a third guard not named Cam Payne

I'd be all for Ty Jerome.
Surprised to see you say that.
He has looked better since when he was here. And there is a big difference between signing him the vet min and drafting him in the first round.

Jock got 8 mil a year? Wtf. Lol.
What? That makes the Eubanks signing look like a really savvy bit of business. There's no way Jock is worth 8 mil a year lol.
I am no longer upset about not retaining Landale. ;)

But the thing you have to keep in mind about the Eubanks deal is that it is just a rental; the Suns won't be able to keep him after this year, and I can tell you now it is going to suck to watch him leave and there will be nothing we can do.

Great value, but weird fit with OG, Barnes, and Siakim already occupying the forward spots.

What about a look at Kendrick Nunn?
Did you know how he became a point guard? He was watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail and he heard, "Nunn shall pass!"

Good for Jock to get 4x his value. Like others have said, it's basically a one-year deal. I also have a suspicion that the contract will be trade bait to acquire Harden.

Austin Reaves getting less than Max Strus and Dillon Brooks (lol) killed me. That's a Mikal Bridges level of a bargain for the Lakers who've done really well in free agency.

I forgot to post about Orlando and Joe Ingles yesterday. What a waste of money.

It seems like the Suns are holding the last spot open to see who comes available before the trade deadline.

I can think of one way they free up some room to re-sign him.

Ya I’m worried about that with all the guys we brought in. They are all rentals as we can’t pay them next summer(unless they aren’t very good).

Eric Gordon is the only guy left who fits that requirement, and he's not signing for the vet minimum.

I'm not all that worried. These types of guys will be available to the Suns every summer as long as they're among the title contenders and Ishbia continues to not care about the bottom line.

Joe Ingles’ and Dillon Brooks’ deals are my leaders for worst so far.

Ingles is just one year and then a team option on year 2. It’s not great value but it’s ultimately harmless as it can just be an expiring deal. The Brooks one is awful. 4 years 80 million? That’s insane

Ya that’s true, but it would be nice to build some continuity. It’s nice that if Okogie breaks out and proves reliable that we’d be able to pay him next summer now. But I guess those 3(Eubanks, KBD, Watanabe) being awesome and getting bigger deals next year means they probably played well for us. I’ll gladly take one of them being out Bruce Brown.

Not according to spotrac..

https://www.spotrac.com/nba/orlando-mag ... les-15852/
Joe Ingles signed a 2 year / $22,000,000 contract with the Orlando Magic, including $22,000,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $11,000,000. In 2023-24, Ingles will earn a base salary of $10,731,707, while carrying a cap hit of $10,731,707 and a dead cap value of $10,731,707.

I don’t understand how he’s getting more than a minimum deal.

I don’t think Spotrac is right…it says Eubanks and KBD signed 2 year deals with no options and I’m pretty sure they have player options…though I’d be thrilled if they don’t.

I don’t think the Dillon Brooks deal is that bad, but this Ingles one boggles my mind. I get the logic, but they could’ve done something else. Or gotten him for cheaper.
