He got his $20M+ but it's only for one season. Interesting.

Not sure they have to be healthy with how bad the east will be.

True, but generally teams don't win with young guys even if they are blue chippers. However if Embiid can play a full season or close they could get into the Eastern playoffs.

I think Brown is a good coach, so even if Embiid goes down, I think they can still get 35ish wins w/o him, and that probably gets them a 5 seed in the east :D

After slow starts Saric and Covington had solid seasons and were the two most consistent players for them and now might be 6th n 7th in rotation. Young players like Luwawu and
Holmes who might not be that well known and I think they definitely making playoffs

Williams is a Knicks target, Len I've seen nothing, I expect their future to be decided post Millsap decision.

That is a redickulous amount of money to pay to JJ Redick. I guess they have the cash to spare, but still.

I like what they are doing. They overpay to get guys on one year deals, but they are getting veteran leadership without sacrificing future flexibility. Reddick also fills a need perfectly.

The problem with that salary for Redick is, what if you want to keep him for 4 more years? Will he accept a 50% pay cut? Probably not. Now you are competing against his previous overinflated salary to keep your own player. As much as we talk about flexibility for front offices and teams, it's a pain in the ass to renegotiate your FAs every year. If they have anything remotely approaching a good season, they're going to get a crazy offer and probably leave you.

Case in point: Do you wish Eric Bledsoe were an UFA right now? Do you wish Booker were? Maybe you'd say "yes" in Bledsoe's case if you don't like him and wouldn't want to keep him. But then he'd just leave and net us nothing whatsoever. At least with him under contract we can potentially trade him for another asset if we decide he isn't in our plans.

I think philly probably has their sights on the 2018 free agent class, but want to start winning. And you never know, maybe reddick ends up loving it there and takes a pay cut to hang around.

Westbrook/George/Gay/Adams. Add a shooter in there and they could be scary. I think the only team that could give GS a series.
