Re: How Would You Rebuild the Suns?
I'm sure a lot of those calls for Ayton aren't offering the Suns much other than future salary cap relief.

Oh I'm not advocating it, but maaaaan the clown show that would come with that would be something to behold.
Love, Hurts.
Re: How Would You Rebuild the Suns?
We’ll see. I think we’ll be able to get quality role players.
Re: How Would You Rebuild the Suns?
How did that clown interviewing Shams get his own show?
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Yes because I don’t think we are going anywhere with Ayton. Zion the only question is health…of course it’s a huge question, but he’d be significantly better on the court.
Re: How Would You Rebuild the Suns?
Not only a football player but a punter. Now it makes sense. Both his behavior and absolute ignorance about basketball.
Bad idea.

Yeah I don't quite get it, but ESPN loves to employ loud mouths that act like they know more than they do. SAS, Rose, Perk, Mad Dog, now Pat just off the top of my head.
Love, Hurts.

Now Ayton isn’t even good enough as a 4th option for you?

Re: How Would You Rebuild the Suns?
It’s more about his willingness to play that role. I’d take 2021 playoffs Ayton over risking Zion’s health. Play defense, rebound, and be happy with 10 shots a game.

I don't recall those being rumors. Just people trying to figure out different pathways to acquire more players.JeremyG wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 9:01 amExactly. This is what I’ve been saying for a month now.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 2:52 amBobby Marks gets a lot of stuff wrong or at least oversells the infeasibility of certain transactions. He was terrible last summer during the KD stuff.Wally_West wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 1:31 amThe way Bobby marks made it sound, if we don’t trade him this year, it’s going be very tricky to trade him in the future. So much so, that we would probably be locked in with Book, KD, Beal and Ayton for the next 4 years. I very much want to get off his salary. I said Ayton for Gordon Hayward and couple of their seconds would be good enough for me. Maybe there are better deals out there but that deal lets us get off 32 million next year. Worth it for me.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 12:42 amI don't really see how Ayton is long for the Suns now that he'll be even less of an offensive threat. I hope they have a strategy to bring in someone more focused on defense and rebounding at his position in addition to a salary that enables a deeper rotation.
While I think it's increasingly likely Ayton is traded, I'm not so sure it'll happen quickly. Ishbia wants to win above all else, and trading Ayton just to do it or for cap reasons won't be an option to him. I think they have a set price in their mind and will make the deal if someone meets it.
If he's still on the team to start the season, it'll be interesting to see his body language without Monty and Paul around.
And the rumors about trading him into cap space to open up exceptions have a zero percent chance of happening. If Ishbia was determined to hold on to Paul’s salary slot, he’s not going to throw away Ayton’s salary slot.

Gambo and some national reporter both mentioned it as a realistic possibility.

Gambo has been quite accurate since Sarver left…
I also do not think we would, but I wouldn’t rule it out.
Trade Ayton to the Rockets for KMJ, Jae’Sean Tate, and a future 1st(or maybe #20 in this draft. Would either open up some of the MLE or TPMLE and also create a pretty big trade exception.
I think the only way we’d do it is if we knew we could get someone like Brook Lopez or Naz Reid for the MLE and liked the future assets and potential of KMJ/Tate as role guys. Or if we already had a trade essentially lined up to use the trade exception on.
But I keep coming back to Charlotte as the team that makes the most sense.
Ayton for Rozier/Martin/Williams or Jones and #33

The firepower we'd have if we added Rozier to the big 3 would be immense! I really like Mark Williams too.Split T wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 2:01 pmGambo has been quite accurate since Sarver left…

Re: How Would You Rebuild the Suns?
I do think at this point the dream scenario would be if Boston wanted Ayton and was willing to do 1 from each pot. Pot 1(White, Smart, Brogdon). Pot 2(Horford, Williams).
Or if somehow someway Orlando(for some reason I’ve heard they are interested) wants to send us WCJ and Fultz for him.

Re: How Would You Rebuild the Suns?
Would you take Zion for Ayton if the Pels also threw in Herb Jones? I really don't want Zion but I'd at least consider that. The dream would be that Jonas V + Herb trade; that'd be an absolute heist if we could get those guys for Ayton.
