Ya, no harm in declaring without signing with an agent. In fact, I think anyone with pro aspirations should always get as much exposure as they can with the draft process and NBA scouts and front office. Get some advice, go back to school and see where you stand the next year.Cap wrote:He hasn't locked any doors behind him. He can still go back to school, and probably will. Kobi Simmons is entering also. These kids get such bad advice sometimes. I wonder why kids don't want to stay and play for Miller. A lot of early exits lately and not by traditional one & done types either.

Nah. Word is Comanche hates school and barely went to class this year. I'd be shocked if he returned.

That could be the case, but he didn't sign with an agent for a reason. If he finds out no one is considering drafting him, he'll come back.

Chance Comanche sucks.

I think he's got a lot of potential, but I doubt this will end well. Maybe he can go to the D-League or overseas if he hates college so much.

...aaaand I am starting to turn into a draft hoarder. Now I want Isaiah Hartenstein to replace Len. And since we are talking about centers, also want to give Big Sauce a contract and move Chandler out, unless he is ok with barely playing, but it's a waste given that he still rebounds and finishes.
Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
I'm starting to think that the Suns really need to get into the top 2 for a pg, because of how well Warren and Jones Jr have been playing. I think it's less of a upgrade and ceiling isn't much higher for Jackson if these guys can extend their range to a consistent and efficient offensive threats from 3 and in.

Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
Exactly. While I like Jackson, the biggest difference makers in the draft are Fultz and Ball. If we don't get one of them, I wouldn't mind trading down for Fox or Frenchy and another player or future pick.In2ition wrote:I'm starting to think that the Suns really need to get into the top 2 for a pg, because of how well Warren and Jones Jr have been playing. If we do get Jackson, I could see him doing well on the court with Warren sliding over to PF. But there aren't a lot of minutes available there.

I like this plan, Ntilikina or Fox, a late 1st and an unprotected 2019 1st.O_Gardino wrote:Exactly. While I like Jackson, the biggest difference makers in the draft are Fultz and Ball. Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
It'll be interesting to see what Boston does if they get a top 2 pick.
They'll need to max out Thomas if they want to keep him, but I think that would also make it hard for them to draft Fultz or Ball. Not that it couldn't work well, but it could be a tough chemistry situation since they'd basically be drafting a future replacement for a guy they just maxed out.
This opens the door for them to trade out of that draft position. It's pretty well known that Al Horford doesn't like to play Center, so would they consider a deal based around Chandler/Len and the 2018 Miami 1st rounder? We'd probably have to throw in another prospect and/or another 1st round pick down the line, but having 2 picks in the top 5 sounds pretty good to me.
Or they could just draft one of the PGs and tell Thomas to kick rocks when his deal is up...

It really depends on what Boston does in the playoffs. If they flame out in the first round or are an easy 2nd round exit I could see them moving on from him even though he's been better than good for them.

No way do I pass on Fultz because I have Thomas. No way. Gimme the bigger player who can defend, especially if his offensive game translates. Thomas no matter how good offensively, is a bum on the defensive end.
Love, Hurts.
Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
I think Ball makes the most sense since he and Thomas can play in the backcourt and switch off defensively. I don't see Ball as a ball dominant guard the way Thomas is which makes me think it can work. Thomas can handle the ball in the halfcourt, Ball can run the break and spot up for shots when things slow down. Plus, Ball won't even need a ton of shots be happy/effective.
Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
Ya, ball and Thomas could work together. I think Fultz and Thomas can play together too. Fultz can play off the ball.
Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect & March Madness Discussion
Jackson is an upgrade because he is a good defender.
I'd love to send Bledsoe to Sacramento. I like WCS too.

I think the Celtics will be screwed if they try to play Fultz or Ball with Thomas. IT wants to hold the ball and control the offense. I think if they get a top-2 pick and keep it, long-term they'll deal IT and let the young guy take over the starting PG role.

Yep, they'll turn IT into a valuable asset and get what they need for him.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:I think the Celtics will be screwed if they try to play Fultz or Ball with Thomas. I think they'd eventually move IT, but it could work for awhile. I think ball will work better off the ball in the half court at first anyways. Fultz would have no problem playing off the ball. 10 years ago he'd have been a sg.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:I think the Celtics will be screwed if they try to play Fultz or Ball with Thomas. I am ok with Fultz or Ball. I've been a fan of Ball for awhile, and think he will improve everyone. I do love Fultz though and how he can do everything smoothly and easily.
I don't get how people think that Ball is some type of liability in the half court. He's smart enough to figure it out and still has the vision that makes it work. I haven't seen him not be able to work in the half court.

He doesn't really have a pull up game right now. Kinda crucial for a pg in the nba
