Exactly! How messed up is this?! I don't see Portland giving Grant that payday if they knew Dame was going to immediately ask for a trade.
That payday is probably why Dame asks for a trade. It's moves like that that keep them at the bottom tier of the West year after year.

I think Dame to Miami has been done for a while. Heat have been too chill letting Vincent go and evening accommodating Strus exit, trading Oladipo.

Think Jeremy hit the nail on the head on this one. Marc Jackson never says anything negative either.
Unless you're gay.

So he waited until they gave Jerami Grant a massive bag and then asked out?

It was their panic move. He was not impressed.

Miami is fed up with Bam? I haven’t heard that.

It’s Herro, contract, and picks. That’s the Miami offer.

Brooklyn can offer Simmons, Sharpe, Thomas, their rookies, and a bunch of picks. Brooklyn could also probably include enough salary to take back Grant too.

Yeah there’s no way they’re including Bam.

Guess y'all don't listen to Miami radio like LeBatard or anything? Cause they are way over him. Funny that most of their complaints are about how soft he is and won't use his size like he's supposed to. Remind you of anyone?

They will wind up having to overpay Herro if it's a sign and trade too. I don't see how this is good for Portland at all.

Herro is already signed. Bam was their best player in the finals

Yeah, it would make a mockery of leaving Portland to win now if he went to the Spurs. Sure they have a nice young core but they aren't winning for another few years.

I just don't see how the Heat have what Portland would want. They're massively fed up with Bam (who'd almost have to be included to make salaries work) over there and I guess they'd include Herro but he's pretty overrated. Maybe they just send them 4 draft picks like we sent Brooklyn for KD too. I think Brooklyn just doesn't have the goods even if you consider splitting up the twins. They could send the max amount of picks but what players?
I've heard the same rumors about the Heat being unhappy with Bam.

What about a 3-way trade with Portland, us, and the Heat? Heat get Dame, we get Bam, and Portland gets Ayton and Oladipo. Heat can throw some picks Portland's way.

Heat already traded Oladipo to the Thunder

Spurs, BK, Philly stuff might just be misdirection to make it seem like Dame hasn't been talking to the Heat already. Cuts down on the talk of tampering when everyone already knows he's got his sights on Miami.

I think the idea (which Woj was hinting at also) is that the Blazers may do the deal that's best for them (perhaps San Antonio), not just send Dame to his preferred destination (which everyone agrees is Miami).

So you want to trade away a player we complain about for a player whose current fan base has the same complaints about? Tell me how that make sense.
