Right. Saver has sort of begrudgingly figured out how to get out of his own way when it comes to player contracts. But I still don't know whether he has figured out how to treat employees and how to build a good organizational culture. The coaching revolving door is a bad sign. The last shoe to drop will be if our (still amazing) training staff starts to leave.

That's the going rate. If a guy is going to get the max, I can understand giving it to guys like Harden and Durant. Parsons and Barnes, not so much.

Haha. Can only go so high. As far as value, I don't even know what he's worth. I don't actually like Harden all that much.

Awww, DAR just poo-poo'd on TJ McConnell's game winner by hitting one of his own.
J.A. Adande asked him a question and he goes, "Man, I played like shit." Right on ESPN. Adande's eyes got huge and he was like, "Dude...."

Why was it depressing?
It is always depressing to hear about how the warriors (a perennial doormat for a long, long time) turned their franchise around, and did it with a lot of cast offs from us (offense, coaching, players--including the reneged trade). They took a lot of what we were building in 2005-2010 and did it right.
So? We have a rockstar GM and a coach everyone is dying to play for that is respected all around the league. We're in great shape.

You have this fantastic new girlfriend, but you are ticked that someone is dating your old girlfriend. . .

Really? That truly deserves an

Have you ever read me saying that our GM is a great one? Or that we have a well-respected coach around the league?

Someone already posted that agents were calling trying to get their guys to Phoenix because of Earl Watson.
And Ryan just had an amazing draft that was praised by all of the media and the majority of this board. Plus, in his infinite wisdom, he signed Knight and Bledsoe to deals that are bargains now.
Things are once again bright and shiny in the Valley of the Sun.

Bone, I know you and 'Dack are always competing for the most positive/rose-colored guys here, but there is no way you think Ryan is a rockstar GM, do you?

I think he's in the upper 1/3 of GMs right now. He's solid but not spectacular. He was one of the youngest GMs and is learning on the job. I'm willing to stick with him a couple more years.

I am not in the camp that wants to fire him either. But to me, a rock star GM would be in the top 5. And he isn't there. I would say he seems to be doing an average job, but by comparison for Suns fans, he looks like he is doing well because we have sucked there for 10 years.

At the post-draft presser, McD mentioned that agents of prospects were contacting them, saying they wanted to be in Phoenix, citing Watson's ability to connect with young players as a reason.
