I think he can pull up left but not right. That's not good enough.

That's why I think he would work out best with the Suns (or Boston). Playing next to Booker, he wouldn't have to be The Man in the halfcourt - he could play off the ball, spotting up and cutting.I know a lot of teams right now play through their guards letting the PG do everything, but that's not the only way to run the offense.

Hell, if we get Ball and keep Watson, you can look forward to seeing Ball spot up while Len posts up 14 feet from the basket.

Ball has value in the halfcourt because he'll find the open man. You just need set plays, motion, and cutting. He's not a true PnR guard the way Nash, Harden, Curry and most other guards have become. He can get into the lane, but I also wonder about his ability to finish at times against bigger players.

I posted per 40 minute stats in the middle of the season, but here's how the top prospects ended up for the year:

Player Name Pts/Reb/Ast/Stl/Blk/FG%/3PT%/FT%
Markelle Fultz 26.0/6.4/6.6/1.7/1.3/.476/.413/.649
Lonzo Ball 16.6/6.8/8.7/2.1/0.9/.551/.412/.673
DeAaron Fox 22.6/5.3/6.2/2.0/0.3/.478/.246/.739
Dennis Smith 20.8/5.2/7.1/2.2/0.5/.455/.359/.715
Malik Monk 24.8/3.1/2.9/1.2/0.6/.450/.397/.833

Josh Jackson 21.2/9.6/3.9/2.2/1.4/.513/.378/.566
Jayson Tatum 20.2/8.8/2.6/1.6/1.4/.452/.348/.849
Jonathan Isaac 18.3/12.0/1.8/1.8/2.3/.508/.348/.780
Miles Bridges 21.1/10.4/2.6/0.8/1.9/.486/.389/.685
Lauri Markkanen 20.2/9.3/1.1/0.5/0.7/.492/.423/.835

Statistically, Bridges might deserve more consideration than he's been getting. He's right there with Jackson and Tatum, but often considered a late lotto pick.

Apologies if it's difficult to read, I tried to format it the best I could

I'm surprised that Fultz ft% was lower than Ball's.

Ya, he didn't shoot well from the line. It's the only real weakness statistically for Fultz or Jackson.

According to SDC, he'll be a dud.

Ha

Free throw percentage can be an indicator of 3 pt ability, but in this case I'm not too worried. Fultz took a lot of difficult shots from 3 this year and still hit at a very good rate. If the sample size was smaller, I'd be a little worried that his 41% was a fluke, but the sample size is huge. The kid can shoot. Why his free throw percentage is so terrible is strange though.

Jackson on the other hand is more worrisome. He wasn't a good 3 pt shooter before college and he had a rough start to the season. He got hot the 2nd half(shooting like 45% from 3) to make his 3 pt numbers look pretty good. Is it legit? Or did he just have a hot streak? His very poor FT% would give some credence to the numbers being a little fluky

Would anyone trade Bledsoe, Warren + our pick to NO for Anthony Davis?

I would do it in a heartbeat. Booker + Davis can be the two best pieces on a championship contender. The other pieces would be much easier to find.

Of course. But the Pelicans wouldn't do it in a million years.

All I see with Bridges is Derrick Williams. Ugh.

Ive only watched him a little, but I'm not super high on him. Just pointing out that statistically he put up numbers. I think Jackson, Tatum, and Isaac are all better prospects.

re Ball, I don't want my top 2 pick overall to have to function only to one side on offense, without being a suffocating defensive presence at the same time. I'm really hung up on that sidewinder. Sorry.

re Davis, I've grown less and less enamored with him. Maybe it's the injuries, maybe it's the terrible showing on the team's record (I know about the talent around him), maybe it's him not wanting to play C even though his natural position in today's NBA is 5. I just don't feel great that a team anchored by him has been this terrible for this long.

Ball will be fine. Davis's teams have been horribly built and misfit.

Totally understand that about AD's teams. But he's not really a guy who makes the people around him better, which is what concerns me. He doesn't seem like the #1 star on a championship team, more of a #2 guy for me.
