You need to take chances, and sometimes they are reckless. If it works out, you do something your team has never done in over 50 years. If it doesn't work out, you at least took your shot.
I don't have a problem with that. I do have a problem with taking a shot that has probably a 5% chance of success.
You think KD, Paul and Booker have a 5% chance at winning a championship together? Or a 5% chance we can get KD?
The former. Mainly due to age/health.
As long as CP3 is on the roster, you'll be rolling those dice. If we're going to keep CP3, I'd rather roll with KD and Booker for our big 3 instead of riding and hoping CP3 can stay healthy enough come playoffs to carry a similar roster to last season to a championship. I think those odds are worse than rolling with KD.
You're assuming KD can both stay healthy and not start declining due to age.

If the odds were flat, each team has a 3.33% chance. We know the odds are not flat, so a few teams have way higher and a few way less, with the average in the middle. There is a reason the betting sites shifted drastically when they heard KD preferred Phoenix. It isn't like we are at 20% or anything, but it is way higher with 3 all-nba players.
I’d say at most there is 12 teams with any semblance of a chance at the title each year. So that makes it like 8.5% on average, with 4 or 5 of those teams combining for like 5% total.

So final 8 teams have like 95% let’s say. I’d give the top 4 like 75% and the bottom 4 20%.

So it’s probably something like

1. 25%
2. 20%
3. 15%
4 15 %
5-8. 5%
9-12. 1%
13-30 1 % combined.

Certainly the numbers shift around, but KD to the suns certainly puts us in one of those top 4 spots at worst.

Assuming is part of every decision, as in, you are assuming that Ayton is going to be better if the team increases his touches and features him, blowing awya his value versus his contract, most people don’t, therefore, you are the only one (and his agent) willing to give him the supermax.

A healthy KD assumption is moving the entire league, so PROBABLY it’s not a bad one.

Can someone just make a KD thread at this point lmaooo
It would be very phx-suns.net if we acquired KD and the news broke in page 37 of the "Suns 2020s Offseasons Thread".

Dallas should absolutely trade for Kyrie…assuming it doesn’t take much. Kyrie is perfect next to Luka.

Pretty sure the Knicks haven't been allowed to even talk to him yet, right? According to the CBA? Tampering?

Gambo says that teams have told him that most teams start to feel comfortable engaging in illegal tampering 24-36 hours before legal tampering begins.

ESPN really talking about the lakers getting both KD and Kyrie…like somehow AD, Westbrook and 2 1sts beats our offer? Lol

They have to meet their Lakers airtime quota.

NBA media would meltdown if the Nets traded KD before Kyrie.
I had a feeling... I was just too gutless to change the grammar.

Because they're not trading Booker for him, losing Mikal is the only thing that could kinda bum me out.

This feels weird unless it’s a cost cutting move for Brooklyn…maybe throwing Joe Harris in?

Otherwise this makes a KD for Ayton deal more difficult
I have no idea why Brooklyn would make that deal. O'Neale is a decent role player but a first rounder for him?! That's insane. Detroit got Nerleans Noel, Kemba Walker, and Alec Burks from NY without giving up a single 1st rounder. I'd take all of those players over O'Neale's 7 ppg in 30 mpg.

Well I think you have to consider that

1) Brooklyn really wants Irving gone.
2) Anthony Davis is better than anything the Suns have to offer. Remember, this is the same franchise that traded for Ben Simmons. I think they would be perfectly fine with AD's injury issues.
