I like Lonzo, the image of him running the break with Chriss and Booker filling the lanes is a really fun thought, but going all in a kid who has a questionable shot and defensive concerns? Scares the stuffing right outta me. Its a box office move.

Why not Bledsoe for #2 Mozgov and Deng.

That could give them room to sign both Lebron and Wade.

Whoops, I thought Lebron was on a one year contract it appears that he cannot leave until next year.

I would love to have 2 and 4 this year, somehow someway.

I'm for this move. They get a near all-star guard, clear their cap to sign some big name guys next year. I would also love to have 2 and 4 this year. I might even throw in Miami '18 pick too. Ball and Jackson, Isaac, or Tatum sounds pretty good to me.

Sounds like there is more chatter of the Lakers trading with the Suns. Also, there is also a GM that's convinced that the Celtics are actually going to take Jackson with the #1 pick or trade down to 3 with the Sixers to pick up Jackson there. I'm sure they would have to be convinced that the Sixers and Lakers would got Fultz and Ball. Supposedly the Sixers love Fultz and would love to jump to the #1 to get him. Wouldn't that be something if the Sixers picked 1, Suns 2, Celtics 3, and Lakers 4?

Hell, I would just try to do the deal above and really try to get both the 2nd and 4th pick. You could probably move down a spot or two with the 4th pick and pick up some assets there, or use them in the trade with the Lakers(if they are serious about signing free agents next year and want to clear cap space).

I'd probably support it if the Suns find a way to get Ball, even if it meant giving up Bledsoe or #4 or another asset. Don't overpay, but if you can get that #2 pick, do it.

I'm loving the intrigue and drama over who the Suns will pick and I think it's highly likely we at least get a good to very good player, so I'm not as worried as going into previous drafts.

Out of interest, where do we think Bender would go (seeing what we've seen of him and his still young age) if he was in this draft?

Seems like since Lonzo workout and the rumblings about "might have been a lil out of shape" and "not blowing them away" that he is no lock for #2 and his mindset is changing.

Lonzo has only spoken to/worked out for Lakers. I'm told he could still speak w/ teams *below* Lakers in lottery. But no plans to talk to Cs

Lonzo should meet w/other teams. Only Lakers have his medicals. If LA takes Josh Jackson, he could slide if teams don't have critical info

In this draft, I think Bender and Chriss might fall to the 11-15 range. Ntilikina is essentially this season's Bender, a very young euro with great size and almost no resume. He's #11. Ivan Rabb, who's lowest mock position at DE last season was #14, is a borderline second rounder this year.

Steve Kyler was asked yesterday how many of last year's guys would go Top 5 this year. He said maybe Simmons and Ingram.

No Adam. They are mostly born in hospitals, with some few born in homes and a tiny percentage born elsewhere.

These guys are insufferable. The one hems and ha's the whole time, and he acts like he doesn't totally want to roast the Suns, but at the same time isn't giving out his full feelings. There is some truth there, and it's stuff we all think. My opinion is that they hate the Suns and everything about the team. At least they didn't call them the saddest team maybe ever.

I don't know that it's "a lot" of truth. I mean, what they say is that our players don't have enough talent / skills / size to win a lot of games. That's true!

But, fair warning, these guys think Booker is a "nice" but inefficient scorer who can't pass and whose ceiling is CJ McCullum. Plus, they think Dennis Smith is the BPA at #4, and never mention Fox when talking about the Suns. They have Fultz/ Ball/ Monk at 1/2/3 and think the Suns should pick Smith or Tatum. So...

Ya they were brutal about the Suns. They did make some good points, namely that we shouldn't be avoiding players because we have a similar, but lesser prospect already. Both Isaac and Tatum are better prospects than anyone on our team not named Booker.

It sounds like they don't really like Booker either, but found it hard to totally discount him. I think they forget that he's still 20. They rag on him for being a poor defender, a so so play maker, and a not as good as you think shooter, without considering that he is still developing those skills.

Interestingly, they both seemed to like Bender even though he's shown less than anyone on the team. I honestly wonder if it comes down to how they originally viewed these guys as prospects. It's hard to change people's minds after they've made them up.

They both love Dennis Smith, will be interesting to see how they view him in a few years of he struggles in the NBA.

I stopped listening after the Suns talk, but I did catch the Kings are the saddest team ever comment. Did they forget about the current version of the Nets?

I cannot explain why but I really feel sickish about the idea of having Lavar’s son on our team. That happens to be the case even though I haven’t seen much of him but a few YouTube clips.

I guess this is because I believe that the mental aspect of the game is pretty significant and I feel that the entire debacle with his father, the big baller brand empire, him wanting to be a Laker so bad etc. has led to some players already hating and targeting him. I am afraid this added attention might not bode well for him at that young age and could have serious and lasting negative effects on his development and growth as a player and as a human being. We all know that all of this is really his father’s fault (call it undeniable insecurities, blatant attention seeking or a genius marketing-campaign) but it still worries me a lot and even more so if he ends up becoming one of our players. Again, I cannot explain why and you can go ahead and call me a pessimist or Debbie Downer but I expect these effects to be a lot less relevant and troublesome if he actually becomes a Laker. Whatever, I do for sure hope I am wrong.

With regards to that notion, I have to admit that I think that BPA is just a theoretical construct because nobody can deny the fact that a lot of small things can influence a player’s performance and development. I other words, I believe there is always some sort of ‘fit’ and that fit goes far beyond a player’s skills, his position or the team’s roster. #cultureEatsStrategyForBreakfast #mcDonoughPleaseFigureThisOut

Having said that, I want to also add that I somehow really like Isaac (and to a lesser extend Jackson) because I believe he has the right mindset is a fantastic fit for our current group and might be able to grow to become very special player in the new positionless era of the league.

In the end I do however trust Ryan McDonough to make a well-informed decision but I would not want to be in his shoes come Thursday to be honest. Still and as others have stated here already I am very much okay with most of the possible prospects at #4

P.S.: I cannot wait for the draft to finally happen.

If the Laker's are inclined to move the 2nd pick, I don't think it will take this much to get it. If they are not inclined to do so, we won't get it at all.
