"Purist" is just a lame excuse for being selfish.

If you're really a purist, you'd be against things like dribbling and moving while possessing the ball.

Lol, how am I being selfish for not wanting a tournament?
Because your reasoning is being a "purist", which lacks any sort of objectivity.

I'm selfish and would rather keep the regular season as it is, but I'll go into it with an open mind. This is purely a capitalist money grab, but I thought the same thing of the play-in tournament, which I ended up liking.

Well said, Split.

The whole issue is a byproduct of having an 82-game season that lacks incentive to maintain a consistent high level of competition. That's simply too many games, but the revenue is baked into every single operation by the league and individual teams so it's never going to significantly change.
Yes, this

Hmm. Is there really a market for 2 women's basketball leagues?

It will give them something to do instead of playing in Russia, I suppose.

WNBA loses money every year, so no.

This league can operate with way lower overhead. One of the problems with the WNBA is that it operates like the NBA with huge arenas, large rosters, suits in the front office, etc. This league can cost a tenth of that.

Pop re-signs to coach the Spurs for 5 more years. Getting Wemby will do that.

He is 74 years young. He will be 79 at the end of his deal. 79 is the new 59.

Tough draw.

I think the draw is pretty good for the Suns.

Memphis will be without Ja, and there are really only two teams in the West who'll be pretty bad and the Suns have one of them in the Blazers.

Group C is the weakest. Forgot about Ja tho.

I'm not so sure about C being the weakest. Spurs are the other bad team in the West, but the Kings and Warriors have Finals aspirations and OKC is going to be dangerous. Minnesota.. OK, they're not dependably competitive.

Remember when he was going to retire when Duncan retired? This year is already the 8th season after Duncan.
