Biden should retire gracefully. He is not fit enough to serve as President. The longer he delays the more likely Trump will be President and then everyone will blame him.

I don't usually watch Colbert's show, but I thought he had a good monologue recapping the debate and the concerns about Biden's age. Funny and also thoughtful. I mostly feel like Colbert's current show is very skippable, but Stephen Colbert has long been a hero of mine, and when he's on his game he can still be sharp and incisive and very funny.

Pelosi is asked about whether Biden should run or drop out. She says "it's up to the President to decide." But he has already decided, so to me this reads as a passive aggressive "drop out" vote. The only "decision" he could still make would be to drop out. "I want him to do whatever he decides to do" is certainly not a ringing endorsement.

Pelosi should also move on from politics for the same reason Biden should drop out.

Yeah, she can’t exactly tell him to drop out when she’s running for re-election and she’s older than him!

There’s a minimum age for president…we need a maximum age too.

No we don’t. We need cognitive tests. Everybody ages differently, youngster.

I’ll take both…make them take a cognitive test and then a hard cut off at 75

I'm no lawyer, but I don't think you are allowed to do this for any job, much less POTUS or elected office. Age is one of the few "protected classes" that cannot be used to discriminate employment in this country.

Competency tests, yes, those are allowed. If you think somebody is too old to do their job, make them take tests to prove it or something. I wouldn't be opposed to that, plus publicly released results. Sunshine disinfects. (You can even shine it up your ass to cure COVID!)

How come you can make a minimum age limit then?

It’s in the Constitution. You would have to pass an amendment to the Constitution in order to enforce a maximum age, which honestly may be a good idea.

It's horse shit. The fact that you can age discriminate for younger people (see: 55+ communities, or the entire city of Sun city) but can't for old farts like Superbone is so hypocritical

A US Senator has now called for Biden to step aside.

There are so many of these reports saying, "X person / group publicly supports Biden, but privately they think his brains have turned to mush."

Montana Sen. John Tester refused to comment on Thursday’s meeting but said he stands by the statement he issued earlier this week, in which he said “Biden has got to prove to the American people, including me, that he’s up to the job for another four years.”

https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/ ... index.html
That’s an impossible task. How can Biden possibly prove that he’s up for another four years? There’s no way to know what he will be like a year from now. The only definite reality is that he will continue to decline.

Why are these politicians living in denial of reality?

Well this press conference is sure going well…

“I…picked Vice President Trump.”

“I’m following the advice of my Commander-in-Chief.”

His correction of “chief of staff of the military” is not much better—there is no such position!
