Yes.
A place for fans of the Phoenix Suns

Is this guy, the one who every now and then spammed the old site with crappy poetry, and acting like the resident "bohemian"?Cap wrote: Among his many other sins, he threatened to do just that.
He pretty much ruined the old site. He was as juvenile, confrontational, obnoxious and bad for morale as Marcus. Like Marcus, he was only around because of his personal relationship to somebody else. (Because of misteradiant's personal relationship with sose, the moderators were powerless to control him. Anybody else would have been banned for acting the way he did.) And, like Marcus, he's not our problem any more.
Here, here!Superbone wrote:I missed the nastiness luckily for me. I'm glad we're still thriving and that we got Cap and virtual back in the fold.
That's the guy. There were two things of which he was very proud. First, that he self-published a book of poetry that sold about a dozen copies. Second, that he wasn't bound by the same rules of civil discourse as everybody else on phxsuns.net and several contributors quit the site in response to his verbal abuse.Aztec Sunsfan wrote:Is this guy, the one who every now and then spammed the old site with crappy poetry, and acting like the resident "bohemian"?Cap wrote: Among his many other sins, he threatened to do just that.

Now I understand a lot better how he got away with a lot of verbal abuse against several posters back then. Dangerous stuff, to give free passes and privileges to people in a comunity.
Thanks a ton, v9! Now that the site is all set up, I don't do all that much day-to-day work to keep it going. All the credit goes to the awesome mods who pounce on spammy threads and keep things running so well. In case folks didn't know, our mods are:virtual9mm wrote:On that note, I do appreciate how well Mori and the mods are running this site. Conflicts are allowed to happen, but managed in a way that they don't threaten the integrity of the site. A round of drinks on me if we should ever meet!
I wasn't a huge fan of misteradiant's behavior. I think the environment just wasn't quite right. The site didn't have very active moderation, and he was permitted to kind of run wild. Any healthy online community needs a little bit of moderation to keep folks from showing their ugly sides. I really like the group of folks we have here and the overall friendly tone of the discussion. Even the Politics folder (which I was a bit scared to create) has been pretty civil.Cap wrote:He pretty much ruined the old site. There were, I think, eight moderators when MR began his reign of terror. One by one, they all quit in protest of sose's constant reversals of any moderation of MR. I was the last one.Mori Chu wrote:The site didn't have very active moderation, and he was permitted to kind of run wild.
Well that's just not true. You contribute more than many of us, besides those threads. (By the way, that was a really great idea and I loved every one of them.)Charlie Smithy! wrote:I must thank mori/Marty for allowing me to be on the mod team.
In reality, the only reason that I am has to do with the old 20 Questions threads, and the fact that I really just wanted the ability to sticky future threads for the official dot net radio show!
... Which is unfortunately indefinitely on hiatus, as I am currently looking for other means of Internet besides dsl.
Oh, rural Idaho, you are a cruel mistress indeed.
Cheers to the five of you!Mori Chu wrote:Thanks a ton, v9! Now that the site is all set up, I don't do all that much day-to-day work to keep it going. All of them do an amazing job. Carey also posts a massive amount of content, links, etc. every week, and is really the heart and soul of the site. We might not have a critical mass of posts and content without him. Carey da real MVP!
Awww, thanks dude. Really it's just that I'm an unemployed single dad with a lot of free time during the day. I appreciate the kind words though.Mori Chu wrote:Thanks a ton, v9! The Suns slipped last season, prompting six in-season trades and more moves after the 39-43 season to create a roster with better positional and age balance. The current 13-man roster has a strong chance of being the opening-night roster. McDonough said it would take “a pretty high-level player” for the Suns to use the cap space mid-level exception for a two-year contract starting at $2.84 million.
“We’re going to bring a few players to training camp and give them a shot to make the roster,” McDonough said of the camp that will start in late September in Flagstaff. “I think some of the players who come to camp with us, if they don’t make the Suns’ roster, will go to (D-League affiliate) Bakersfield and play for the Jam."
