I feel like we are looking at what happens when you pay your back court a lot and you rely on them to be your offense. Lowry & DeRozan are 15 of 43 tonight. Just terrible.

Isn't Miami about the same in that regard now that Bosh is out?

Well they have Joe Johnson and Deng as their front court along with Whiteside. Their scoring is actually pretty balanced generally, with Wade sometimes going off.

Valanciunus actually reminds me of Tyson Chandler.

I don't see that at all. They're almost opposites.

Man, Lowry made some lousy decisions. They won in spite of him. I couldn't believe the end of regulation in a tie game where he wasted the whole clock and waited way too long to start making a move and throws up a long air ball three. In the words of Charles Barkley, "turrible".
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Raps have been leaving him wide open and that's dangerous. Dragic is a streaky shooter and if he is on he is going to make those shots. His FT still make you mad.

I didn't get to watch the game last night, but that last play in regulation was just awful. The court is wide open, and he decides to play to the defense, and limit himself on time.

The Raptors are just trash. Demarre Carroll is a good player; Jonas V is an interesting young center. But their guards are basically the Suns backcourt. I heard somebody on a podcast say it really well. Lowry and DeRozan do really well during the regular season because they go 100% and the rest of the league goes 80%. The Raps backcourt feasts on the weaker teams and on good teams with vets who rest or don't play their absolute hardest. But then in the playoffs, when everybody goes at 100%, it's easy to stop the Raptors backcourt. I know that's an oversimplification, but I thought it was interesting.

I feel like the East playoffs have been really bad and boring this year. It's just a waiting game for Lebron and the Cavs to come out. I still like the way Miami is playing, so maybe the ECF can be kind of interesting, but the whole rest of the conference has really laid an egg.

The West has been better, but the Clips injuries and the Steph injury kind of dampen it. And a lot of teams like the Rockets and Grizz didn't put up good showings. At least the Spurs and Thunder seem to be giving us a great series.

Frye with a huge game for the Cavs. Just hit a couple 3s in the 4th. He has 27 on 10-13 (7-9 from 3.)

Yeah, I think that's who it was. I listen to most of the Simmons / Channel 33 podcasts. Good stuff. I also listen to The Starters, The Lowe Post, and sometimes the Dunc'd On podcast.

"THAT'S WHY I'M HERE!!"

Good for Frye. Great to see that kind of night from him on a contending team. Knew he'd be a good signing for them.

I will say, I underestimated the Cavs' improvement in their 3-point shooting. I also think they have done well defensively. They seem to have figured out how to defend Korver pretty well (though he shot well tonight).

Despite all the talk about it, and the records they are breaking, the 3 ball didn't win them that game. Even with that crazy percentage and huge number of made threes, they only got an extra 5 points on them. But they had twice as many FTA on the exact same number of fouls.

This Spurs/Thunder series is really delivering. Chippy, gritty, great finish in Game 2. This Game 3 is a fun watch so far. Spurs have been up for essentially the whole game but OKC is clawing back and is right in it, down by 5 at the half. Ibaka's having a good game, which is great news for OKC. Aldridge having another strong night. Tim Duncan quietly not doing very much. 0 points, 1 rebound at halftime and only 2 FGA.

I liked how the Thunder "let" Aldridge go nuts on them last game and score 40+ points. Spurs aren't built to have one hero player score all the points. OKC didn't send double-teams at LMA and just dared him to take all the shots. Takes away what makes the Spurs so special, their ball movement, their teamwork, their 3-point shooting.

This is such a good game. Both teams are hitting huge shots. Really fun series so far.

Same as the Spurs did to us and Amare back in 04-05.
