Something's up with TJ. I've never been a huge fan of his game, but he was certainly an effective scorer. I'm ready to cut bait and look for a different SF in the offseason. Unless Bender is that guy, but I still think he projects better as a PF/C.

You are ready to cut bait with TJ? He still has a year on his rookie deal and I think he needs time to come back from whatever happened.

I will be quite happy when Earl Watson is gone. Is there any real defense of the guy at this point?
Tons. You can't squeeze blood out of a turnip. The team is badly constructed.

I think he's done ok. Yeah he plays the old guys too much, but his job is to win games. Him nor the players want to lose. He's incorporated Chriss pretty well, Bender was getting time before the ankle, and he's learning on the job. He's got plenty of room for growth, and this team isnt a coach away from making the playoffs. I say keep him and see what happens.

Bledsoe did an encouraging thing last night. In the second half, he stole the ball and it was a two on none fast break with Booker trailing. He gave it up to Booker for the dunk. This team has been far too selfish for far too long so that was a great leadership thing to do and a great example to the team.

Can you imagine the heat D'Antoni would be getting if he had this record.

We assume Watson was chosen to develop but his player usage says he's trying to make the playoffs. If he is trying to win now and has a .293 winning percentage he should be fired. If he was trying to develop he would not play the vets the way he does now. So I don't really get what Watson is doing. Unless there's so much behind the scenes crap with Sarver or McDonut (which is definitely possible) he's got no excuse for the team's performance.

Chriss got minutes.

Bender is back and playing again.

Suns lost.

What is NOT to like here?!?

Loved this game. Just play Len more, that'd be nice.
There were like 11 scouts checking out BK last night. He played about as bad as possible.

There is always a dark side.

I actually wonder if Watson's main goal has been to develop the locker room culture, perhaps even above developing individual players. One major difference in this year to past years is that there hasnt been frequent grumblings about angry or contentious players. Both Dudley and Knight have taken their demotions with professionalism (at least publicly), and there has been a lot of discussion about how the veterans are getting opportunities to develop the younger players (Tucker on Booker in practices or Bledsoe asking Dudley for advice on the bench).

To me, Watson would make a stupendous assistant coach--but in a year where expectations have perhaps never been lower, he has done a good job of quelling a lot of potential grumbling and animosity.
