Isn't your point just as ridiculous? What basis do you have for saying he can't shoot?

The fact that he’s shooting 39% from the field. The fact that at least once a game he seems to rather air ball a shot or clank it off the side of the backboard. That from 3-10 feet he’s shooting 36%, 10-16 feet 17%. From 15-> 3 point distance he’s at 50% but it’s only .06% of his shot attempts (same with 10-16 feet, most of his shots have come inside 10 feet).
It’s like Shaq making the only 3 he attempts in a year and then saying he’s a better shooter because he’s at 100%. You can say it, but clearly it’s not a fair comparison.

Yet he's taken less shots from all those areas than he has from 3. So again, your point is just as ridiculous as mine. so maybe we shouldn't make any conclusions based on an 11 game sample size. Instead, let's say his ability to shoot is questionable.

He’s taken 100 shots this season, 29% of which have been inside 3 feet and shot 48%. That’s 14/29. If you take those out, he’s shooting a clip of 25/71 or 35% from anywhere that’s not a layup or dunk.

Kyle lowry has taken 114 shots this season, 48% which have come within 3 feet where he is 32/54. That means he's shot 13/60 on anything that's not a layup or dunk. That's 22%. So I guess Lowry is a terrible shooter too, much worse than Jackson. Or maybe the sample size is too small to make a claim either way.

Lowry has a career FG% of 42. So yes, he’s not a great shooter.

If you want to believe that, go ahead, but Lowry is one of the better shooters in the league. He hit 41% from 3 last year on nearly 8 3's a game.

Fair enough, I disagree. 42% from the field is not good. I like my guards in the upper 40s.

Thoughts on Booker?

It may not be pretty, but he's fine as a shooter right now. He's shooting better than Kyrie, Eric Gordon, Love, Westbrook, Monk, Hield, kuzma, Lowry, Lillard, among others.
The only players on our team shooting better are Daniels and Booker.
That's what I was going to say. These guys act like he's shooting 20% right now.

Just reposting this cause I was looking forward to feedback may it be for or against

Bender has shown very good fundamentals and positioning, but he lacks the instincts that made AK47 a great player.

Ok point taken, I just remember AK47 being a guy who never really looked for his shot but always affected the games in many ways but that instincts factor I would have to ponder

I said that was his ceiling in the off-season, still think that is his best case scenario

That's what separates the winning teams from the losing teams. Bring him in and do everything you can to build up the roster and convince him to stay. Maybe he'd rather keep stringing everyone along with his "timeline" so he buys himself another 2-3-4 years "building up the roster" and "collecting assets". Well we just sold Bledsoe for pennies on the dollar, Knight has no value and no one wants Chandler. Oh and here's a bold prediction: No one will want Monroe either and we'll be lucky to get a 1st for him.
Great post. I was trying to say this but you said it better. If you don't even think your team should bother getting top-12 players in the NBA because they won't stay, I don't see wha business you have running an NBA team. You should want that player, want the chance to make him stay on your team. You should want to do everything you can to make your team great so that he will stay.

Eh. It depends on the player. Kyrie already said where he wanted to play and here wasn't one of them. I wouldn't waste good assets unless I had at least an inkling that I could keep the player. Antonio McDyess ring a bell with anybody here?

It’s for TWO years. He’d be under our control for two full seasons. It’s going to be really rare to find a star with longer than that on their contract on the trading block.

Sure, easy for you to say with your unique perspective. You run around it in seconds and are back where you started.
