Poor Canaan. Didn't think of him as a rotation player long-term, but the guy showed up to play and was part of our squad. Seemed to be a good guy who played hard. This is a huge setback for him. I hate to see injuries like this happen to marginal NBA guys who are just on the verge of sticking with a team. Who knows if he'll get a chance to play in the NBA again? Poor guy. :-/ The outcome of the game seems secondary in light of the injury.

I think eveyone likes him and I expect him back assuming he recovers well from the injury.

If he does come back, he'll be backing up Brandon Knight. Talk about adding insult to injury!

You could tell he's started to listen. He was the most aggressive I've ever seen him last night.

Yeah, it was really rough. It was weird how emotionless he was when it happened. The announcers thought he may have gone into shock. I was hoping his shoe had just come off, but no. :(

His January has been very promising.
Jackson in January:

14.8 points, 4.8 boards, 1.5 assists and shot .436/.319/.744

It's hard to believe that our record is so close to theirs. They just looked like a mess. Of course, some nights we do to.

5 times as a rookie, twice this season.

BKref has this kind of data down in the shooting section.

These are awesome. It shows what we've been complaining about for a while. There really is talent on the team, they just don't add up to more than a bunch of individual players.

I want to win the draft, but I don't want to roll over for any team. We need to learn to compete and win every night. I'm very happy with how we played.

Typical young guy mistake. They both need to learn how to take over without forcing things. It's a fine line.

Bring back Mike James?

The way we played against he Mavs, maybe we are better off starting Booker and Jackson.

We can find a PG of Canaan's caliber in the D-league without too much effort I'm sure. I don't mean to disrespect the guy. He is definitely a tryhard but it is what it is.

I think that's right. I have suffered a few bad injuries (broken jaw, deep cut on my head, etc.), and each time I just became strangely calm. Your body can't really process what has happened to it, so you become weirdly serene and even keeled. Everyone around you is amped up and trying to call 911 and rush you to a hospital or whatever, and you're just sitting there taking it in as if you're in the Arby's drive thru or something. Poor guy. I bet when it really sinks in ("I may not play in the NBA again," etc.) he'll really take it hard. Hopefully he can make it all the way back.

Ronnie Price is probably on his way to Phoenix right now in his 2001 Honda Civic.
