If the Suns don't at the very least make a trade for an established and good pg before the deadline, I'm going to give up watching them the rest of the season. I don't need this. I have better things to do.

A few observations: The Suns organization not having a decent point guard is preventing Ayton from getting rookie of the year, somebody needs to be able to get him the ball. He should not be setting screens outside the 3 point line when nobody can get him the ball on the rolls to the basket. It is a waste of energy and keeps him out of position for getting the rebound, kinda hard to box out when you start away from the basket. He should not be inbounding the ball after made shots. Ever. He should be getting down the floor and into position, on the block.

Anyone else think that the coach needs to go?

It'll be good to have him back. In this recent losing streak it's been easy to forget that we have one of the most exciting young players in the NBA on our roster.

Okobo does not seem to want to be a point guard, or else he is just not very capable of being a playmaker.
11 assists, baby!

He did have 13 points and 11 boards, though he shot only 5-15. I don't think we should undervalue the guy considering that he has no competent guards on the team who know how to pass the ball.

This was one of the most depressing losses of the season IMO. We should be able to beat this Hawks team on a night like this. This team just completely sucks. We need a point guard and a PF, obviously. But our two best players (Booker and Ayton) don't play much defense, and that's also a problem. Our third-best player, TJ Warren, also doesn't defend, though I think we'll solve that eventually by trading him. Our coach, GM, and owner all seem among the worst in the league.

I just don't know what reason there is to be optimistic about the future of this team. I'm talking the future next year, next 5 years, next decade. Why would we ever be good? We just don't have any of the pieces from top to bottom in place to make this team succeed. I love Booker and am grateful we have him, but around him our entire franchise is a rotten carcass.

Even if we by some miracle got the #1 pick and Zion, would we even be good then? I don't think we would even make the playoffs, even WITH him. Can we sign a competent PG? Do we have any faith in our FO not to screw that up?

These are the times that try men's souls.

I'm not saying he sucks, but to call him one of the most exciting young players in the league is bit of a stretch, IMO.

vs. Houston
@ Utah
vs. Golden State
@ Sacramento
@ LA Clippers

There's a strong possibility that they enter the All-Star break with a 15-game losing streak.

There are flashes/glimpses of basketball where you get excited and see the potential. We have talented guys. It's not like we're rolling out a roster like the Knicks, Bulls, Magic (no disrepect to those teams). Maybe we just need more time. We know we need a PG and PF. I just feel like we should be better in certain areas by now like transition defense, help defense, defending the rim. Young guy get crazy on offense and take bad shots. A PG should help that. But I still feel like the PnR lob pass is still our main offense.

I also can go with never seeing Booker at PG again. He's just not a PG or heady player/passer in that role. He can't create space for himself, can't create offense for others the way we need him to.

Perhaps that's because he now realizes the breadth and depth of the shit storm in which he finds himself...

It's always natural for guys to play well right after a trade and then come back down to earth.
