We didn’t look good against the depleted Clipps squad.
And this matters. You shouldn't have to run Book and Durant all game to beat a team missing Kawhi Leonard and PG-13. On the other hand, that isn't all on Monty. A lot of that is on Ishbia; it's the consequence of the trade he made. But I doubt he'll ever see that.

I bet the final nail in the coffin was starting Landry Shamet in an elimination game.
No, it's more likely it was just the blowout. In the grand scheme of things, starting Shamet over Okogie or Craig isn't good, but it isn't that huge of a deal.
Wonder if Monty knew he was done and he was like welp FU guys I'm starting my make a wish son. Doomed from the tip.

Everyone’s forgetting another possibility…Ishbia’s fellow Spartan…Magic Johnson. ;)

Magic would be an awful coach.
I don't think Magic has any desire to coach. He would be interested in a front office position.

Mike Budenholzer - No thanks.
Nick Nurse - I could be into it, would need to see how other pieces fit.
Frank Vogel - I like it, probably my preferred choice among unemployed candidates.
Kenny Atkinson - Eh? Had one good year with low expectations.
I'm pretty sure the next coach will be one of these four. Ishbia going with Bud after he just lost to an eighth seed would look dumb. I think Nurse has best chance of the four. Vogel would be the best choice if we are keeping Ayton. I don't know if Atkinson is the right coach for a team that will basically be two superstars and a bunch of guys.

This, like the KD trade, seems like something over reactionary from a new owner.
Yeah, Ishbia is coming across very impulsive, but we'll see I guess.

My reasoning is that the Suns finally got a #1 pick in their 50+ years and got a true big man with that pick. You can't just toss that away.
What are you really tossing away though? There is no on-court, basketball value for any of the stuff your referencing. That is all PR stuff. It's stuff you put in press releases, or showcase on your website.

Doc Rivers will be available in a matter of hours too.

(Please, no)

I think Monty could be a real candidate for the Sixers.

Honestly, it doesn't matter. The Sixers can't win it all with James Harden being a part-time star.

I hope Monty goes to Milwaukee. I don't wish Daryl Morey's mess on him.

Doc Rivers is about to lose his 10th (!) straight closeout game after the first round. Monty is blushing somewhere.

How will this move look if Denver goes on to win the title?

There’s no way they’re winning the title. I would give them the 4th best chance.

Really? I think Denver is a pretty good bet. I’d guess we get Denver vs Boston

Here’s my theory on why Booker did not speak to the media the day after the game: he wanted Monty fired and didn’t want to have to answer any questions about him.
