My DVR recorded 3 suns mavs games and none of them happened for some reason. Direct TV blocked them and just recorded their logo. Had to settle for highlights. Lame. Glad we got the win though. Any time we beat the Mavs is a good game.

Do you get AZ Family 3TV? Almost always there when not a national broadcast and sometimes then too. No excuse to miss a game, man!
Especially when you can get them right over the air. I had to go with an OTA antenna for Suns and Jeopardy in AZ with a HomeRunHD + hard drive for recording. Let me know if you need any details.

Let's talk Ryan Dunn!
I love the youthful energy he is bringing to this team. I love that coach Bud has the confidence to play our rookies and especially that he had the confidence to start Ryan Dunn in Beal's absence. I love how excited KD is about Ryan and how he's taken him under his wing.
Also, I loved the fact that they stuck Dunn on Doncic. And even though Doncic still scored 40!, I thought Dunn played him very well and will only get better at learning Doncic's tricks to avoid some of those fouls. He made Doncic work and he may have had 50+ on a night like this without Dunn guarding him.
This is what we have been missing since the KD trade. That youthful energy and home grown talent.

Dunn is everything we've needed since the KD trade. He's a sticky defender with size and his shot looks legit. He's kind of a cross between Mikal (if his shooting holds up) and Okogie (with his strength and physical defense). He should only get better once he really learns the league and gets some respect from the refs. But even now, to be this effective this early on, is very exciting.
I get the sense he's playing a bit tight and that should get better with time and more experience. Once he's able stop thinking and just react and play instinctively, his game should really open up. He's probably just really concentrating on his defensive assignment and staying out of foul trouble.
One thing I think will improve is his rebounding. He averaged 7 last year in college but he hasn't been a factor yet on the boards. I'm sure that's from staying solid defensively on the perimeter but eventually I'd like to see him grabbing 5-7 a game. And there should be some potential down the road as a smallball 4 against teams that don't have a premier perimeter player.
Can't remember if it was here or on social but someone said KD and Book feed off these guys. They need the gritty dirtworkers, defenders and rebounders around them to thrive.

Some of the comments from KD regarding Dunn really back that up. He seems to love Dunn. It's so exciting having that youth and that dog on the roster.

Well, as long as Dunn is the best of Marion, Bridges, and Okogie, he'll be decent for us.

The other issue with Dunn is that he doesn’t have the respect of the refs, which is understandable. He clearly blocked Luka at one point. He had his forearm on the ball first, but they called it a shooting foul. This is why it’s important to play him during the season and put him on this caliber of opposing players. It’s definitely a league where officiating is reputation dependent. And you have to start building it.

I like Dunn a lot - he's a steal considering where they picked him - but they still someone with some athleticism and size who can make players like Anthony Davis and Gianis work a little for their points. They're a real matchup problem as the roster stands right now.

Davis and Giannis are elite players at their position for a reason. Every team is looking for a player who can slow those guys down. Plus you got guys like Wemby and Chet well on their way. Obviously the hope is that Oso can be a guy to throw at those frontcourt players down the line but we could definitely use another.

I freaking love Dunn so much. He is something we desperately needed on this team, a long athletic nasty wing defender who can guard the other team's best guard / swing player every night. He doesn't fix everything wrong with this team, but he plugs one of the hugest holes we had. Now we can put out lineups where 3-4 of our defenders are legitimately excellent. We still have trouble with big burly teams like LAL, OKC, NOP, PHI, etc. and could use a rim-running defensive center. I don't think Oso has the size to be that player, and I don't think that player is currently on the Suns roster. Seems like against those teams we just need to survive the best we can and try to outscore them.

Idk why, but with his glasses he reminds me of Sir Mixalot.
I have become a huge fan of Dunn's.

It'd be funny to pull up the draft night threads of the opinion on Dunn at the time.

Pretty safe to say we had no idea what we were getting with Dunn when we drafted him. If we did, we’d have taken him at 22 rather than risk missing out on him for the 56th pick and two future 2nds.

If anyone knew, we wouldn't have even had the option if drafting him, lmao
And after watching Oso, there is no way he wouldn't have been drafted in the 1st.

The intel was solid there. If they knew another team wanted him, they wouldn't have moved back.
I've seen Knicks and Bucks fans upset at their FOs passing on Dunn. Knicks fans really wanted him but getting Mikal softened the blow until Dunn started showing off his new shooting. They still really like Mikal but would you rather have Dunn as a late 1st rounder or Mikal who cost you 6 picks?

Here is the thread:

I seem to have said this gem (I'M SORRY RYAN):
Seems like Dunn is a really bad shooter. It will be hard to play him since teams will just say off him on offense. I hope he'll start working on that right away, but with numbers like his (20% 3pt) I don't know if a guy can ever learn to be a good shooter if they're that bad coming out of college.
