Our current big man rotation are incapable of getting easy baskets, can’t even punish teams when little guys rotate on them. Nurk can’t get a fuckin lay up and Plumlee too old, his feet and knees can’t move like that anymore. Oso has a decent floater and will attack the rim occasionally but he’s too small and not strong enough yet where we can rely on him on a night to night basis but I’m totally okay with doing that right now until we make a trade for a proper center.
This center rotation is such damn drag on this team.

Nothing is saving this team I'm afraid. It'll be another lost season because our max players can't carry a team. No reason to lose last night but here we are. It's true that Beal doesn't play winning basketball. Maybe that's what happens when you're used to winning 30 games every year in Washington. KD can score but he doesn't make anyone better, so he gets his points and people think he's doing his job and let him off the hook. But really, he's Melo who was just fortunate enough to jump on with the Ws and win a couple rings. He's not a leader or a winner on his own. Nurk is low hanging fruit for the fans but even upgrading him won't make a difference if Beal and KD aren't playing hard. If Beal says he needs a guy like JO to get him up and bring some energy, there's a major problem there. From what I can tell, Dunn is the only one playing with the right sense of urgency in the starting lineup.

At this point the only guys I really enjoy watching are ones who try hard and bust their ass on both ends of the floor. Night to night, that tends to be:
Dunn
Oso
Okogie
Royce
Morris
Plumlee
Book*
* - Book doesn't really bust his ass, but I'll take his offense and leadership with the rest of that squad.
I love KD but I think we really ought to see what we can get for him at this point. He's inevitably going to tear a ligament and be done for the year and we'll never get a good haul for him after that. Right now we could really change our direction by trading this guy for picks and youngs. Teams like Houston are right there waiting for us to call and have an embarrassment of riches to give us.
Nurk basically blows this year but I don't think we can get off his contract. Nobody is going to give us a wet fart for him in a trade if they've watched even one second of game tape of him from this season. It's a pipe dream to think we could flip him for Jonas V or some other less-ass center. Not going to happen. We need to make a KD trade first to get other assets (e.g. lots of picks) and then we could bundle Nurk+pick for something better maybe.
I also don't really think we can trade Beal. I don't hate the guy but I think we need to bring him off the bench to make best use of him given the rest of our roster. I don't think a trade is sitting there for Beal right now so I think you just have to try to make it work with him off the bench.

I saw a tweet yesterday that said something like, "BAD: Suns lose again. GOOD: One loss closer to them giving up on this Big 3 experiment". That's kind of where I am at. I almost want them to lose now, just so that we get on with it and so that the players and front office accept that this won't work and begin working on whatever's next. If they get too many wins or moments of hope, they'll stand pat until it is too late.

Royce doesn't bust his ass. He wishes he could sniff Jae Crowder territory. He's basically a traffic cone on D. He might be the worst finisher on the team outside Nurk. He is only good for streaky 3 point shooting and nothing else.

I think people hoping Cooper Flagg is a franchise savior will be disappointed. He’s good of course, but he’s not Luka. I think there’s a chance he’s just a super role player and not a star…like an Aaron Gordon.Kryptonic wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2024 9:45 amIt’s time to parlay that big 3 into cooper Flagg and rebuild from there. The Bobster wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2024 9:37 amSorry, but I think Booker is just as frustrating as the rest of them.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2024 8:38 amAt this point the only guys I really enjoy watching are ones who try hard and bust their ass on both ends of the floor. I think he's got more offensive ability than Gordon and his defensive timing is fantastic, it's just Duke doesn't really utilize players effectively. With that said, I still might take the kid from BYU first overall because I love players that make others better.Split T wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2024 10:20 amI think people hoping Cooper Flagg is a franchise savior will be disappointed. Bradley Beal scoring 11 points as a super max player. KD scoring points but not doing much of anything else. 2/3 with the big 3 playing as usual. I hate this team. Wake me up when this experiment is over.
