It’s amazing how much easier it is when you play defense…team turned it on these last couple minutes defensively…we just have too many guys who don’t want to defend

Wonder if it’s a coincidence Tyus has been struggling as Booker has got it going lately…I was never as anti point book as some, but probably need to split the Book/Tyus minutes as much as possible
I'm cool losing Tyus. Soft, conservative. I can see why he's a career backup

Nothing special about the game as a whole, but it was nice to see Oso show out down the stretch.

3 in a row. Play in!

It sounds like Nurkic really does have the flu. It's that time of year. I actually hope we rest Royce unless he's certain he's back to 100%. I don't like players rushing back from ankle injuries because they usually tweak it again.
Good thing they didn't listen to you!

I'm glad they showed that they can though. Maybe they can build on that.

I agree, Tyus just feels like a bit of an afterthought out there. He isn't the floor general I was hoping he'd be and just seems happy to defer to Book and KD which isn't what we need. KD is just a walking turnover and I just don't see Booker as a point guard, he makes too many bone headed plays/passes.

Agreed. Jones needs to handle the ball or else he is questionable as a net positive since you are left with a midget spot up 3pt shooter with a floater and a problem on defense. We were doing much more of Jones as the floor general at the beginning of the season, and it showed good results. Need to get back to that as the next step towards correcting our rotation, after removing Nurkic (also need to start Oso) and playing Beal off the bench.

I don't think Booker can excel with Jimmy he's as the floor general. He doesn't draw or orchestrate an offense like CP3 did so Booker is just relegated to spot up guy with Jones and it's pretty apparent that Booker is far better point Booking the offense in large stretches.

Good game,
We started the 4th ugly though, turnovers and missed shots that we should eat.
This time though KD corrected himself and made some good shots and got OSO going.. energy was good and it was a good finish.
Keep it going, find a way to get Bol in the rotation and hopefully do this Richards for Nurk trade... might be something we can save this season!

What a great game from Dunn and Oso tonight. Dunn was 3-4 from three. Those late game pick and roll dunks for Oso were huge.
Been meaning to ask you guys what you think of Kevin Ray's BOOM ROOM calls.
Al had Shazam and k ray is going to coin the boom room. It could be worse and I’m sure it’ll grow on me over a few years.

Turned this one off with about 5 minutes left figuring we'd lose so it was a nice surprise that we won. Caught up on the ending and as much as we hit shots it just felt like the Hornets panicked and gave the game away. It's concerning that we seem to have this much trouble with teams like the Jazz and Hornets.
Good on us for executing and hitting shots down the stretch - KD in the post knocking down his jumper or making the right pass, Book and Oso working the 2man game. Oso is the kind of screen and roller Book works best with and Oso really knows how to screen and time his roll.
Oso was huge for us in the 2nd half - he might be our smartest player and best passer who can unlock the rest of the lineup. He needs to be aggressive going to the basket tho, can't keep doing the Boris move of passing up a dunk or layup for a kickout 3pt attempt. Hope he's the starter going forward unless a trade brings in a better center.
Glad Royce hit that corner 3 at the end, we'll need him if Grayson is missing time. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks Allen may be part of a trade and they held him out but that's probably unlikely.
Beal looked good again off the bench and really gives the 2nd unit the scoring we need. And he's closing games, maybe Bud's way of keeping him onboard.
Dunn's a stud. Melo was hitting tough shots over him but he was still sticky with his defense and he's shooting the 3 confidently.
I hope we don't bench Tyus and go back to Beal in the starting lineup. Still want a PG out there but Tyus seems to be less and less effective the past few games with Book running point and Beal still getting his minutes plus Dunn/Allen/Royce worked into the lineups. If we're not using him tho, I'd just trade him, try and get some value for him like a 2nd rounder or two. Then move Monte into that spot for 18-20mpg, get the same amount of scoring but better defense.

I think it was we actually played tough defense and the Hornets folded like the bad team they are…wish we would have done that from the start.
