We don’t have a role for legit veteran bigs as constructed.
While we want assurances, they just don’t exist. I think we will have flexibility to get someone in the event we will need someone.
What does this mean?
Assurances as in it would be nice to have a legit back up to Ayton, however I think FO wants to let it flesh itself out with Jalen and Saric eating up those minutes at the backup 5 spot (when they’re not playing the 4). Otherwise they could have chased after more established big men. Doing so. Might hinder chemistry and development. We don’t always need to have a big spell Ayton.

First Richaun Holmes, now Frank Kaminsky.
Someone needs to tell them that James Jones broke up the Sun Kings.

I'm sure Milwaukee is reeling after that tweet.

From The Ringer ...
Winner: The Suns’ Culture Boost
Between the additions of Chris Paul (via trade) and Jae Crowder (three years, $30 million), the Suns have undeniably gotten tougher, louder, and straight-up edgier this offseason.
Yes, opponents' genitals have never been in more danger.

Let's see what Ayton does this season. He has a lot of growing to do, but he did grow last year. I expect he will grow this year, too.
Agreed. He is frustrating, but I still have some hope he can be a star.

I have a lot of disagreements with this article.
I hate that we invested two first rounders in Bridges, and his productivity is disappointing, BUT picking Donte DiVincenzo over him is silly.
Also, if I am Sacramento, I just might be tempted to pair Trae Young with De'Aaron Fox.

I would trade DA for SGA right now.
I wouldn't. I like SGA, and I have been critical of Ayton, but I still think Ayton is slightly better now with the potential to widen the gap. It's crazy that it is close though.

Right. I think today, all things being equal, Luka, SGA, and Trae are better players than DA. You could make an argument for JJJ even with the injury history.
No f'n way would I trade DA for SGA. Not even close, and I would have traded the #1 + something for SGA.
I think most teams around the league would rather have SGA. I realize most Suns fans would disagree.
We will see what happens this season. His performance playing alongside a legit point guard will be indicative of what his ceiling will be in the next year or two.
What was Rubio?!

No I was referring to DA’s value compared to SGA, Trae Young.

What the heck? He was available? Why did no team want him?! A one-year minimum deal???
Cuz you have to ride his butt all season to keep him focused.
That isn't true at all. Whiteside is actually very consistent and productive every night. He is just a head case and a bit out of place in terms of the perimeter nature of the game today.

I live in portland. Hassan puts up stats consistently. His problem is often not being motivated into trying. Dame has a solid culture in the team. He had to ride Hassan all last year to stay engaged. His effort was inconsistent. Otherwise Whiteside would dominate in this league.
https://sports.yahoo.com/hassan-whitesi ... 10558.html
“Weaknesses: For as good as Whiteside can be at times, he is not as good as he could be due to mental lapses and occasional poor effort. A good contrasting comparison is Gobert given that both are large, defensive-minded centers not asked to do much on offense.
Whiteside has a 112 defensive rating while Gobert’s is 106.6. For centers who average 30 minutes or more per game, Whiteside’s defensive rating ranks tied for 12th.
That said, Nurkic’s in eight games was 122.
The problem is that Whiteside could be so much better defensively if he paid more attention to detail. Far too often he is either out of position, loses his man or doesn’t fight through screens hard enough to stay with his man. The results are easy baskets for the opposition that add up and in many cases are simply unnecessary.“

It makes sense to try to isolate a young big guy on the perimeter. Hopefully, DA can continue to improve on D and teams won't be so eager. Still, this is why we need other players like Smith who can hold down the paint.

Right? That tweet makes it seem like it was a good thing people were challenging him so often.

The 8.3 leads the league, but so does the 3.0, by a wider margin.
Still, not upset about him being in the company of Siakam and Davis.
