Per RealGM we guaranteed Shavlik's contract for the upcoming season.

UGHHHHHHHHH.

We're paying Shav Randolph what LA paid Ed Davis. Gross. It's not like Shav even addresses our rebounding weakness. He was just a better rebounder than Frye so he looked good by comparison.

Barf.

I'm sorry but he shouldn't make more than Curry or Lowry. Curry got a 4/44 deal cause of his bum wheel. Bledsoe has a bum knee. Not much difference. If you can get 4/63 from another team GO DO IT. I'm not enamored with his high turnover game enough to give him that kind of contract and neither are the Suns.

Yeah, that's just ridiculous after one half of an injury-riddled season. Now I understand why it's taking so long. The Bledsoe camp is being unreasonable.

No way Bledsoe should get that kind of money. I really like him a lot, but you have to be able to put it together for at least a full, healthy, season.

I know he's had some past bonehead moves, but Andray Blatche could be a nice fit. Or maybe if Okafor is healthy this season, he could fill in some at that PF sport.

Of course not but Bledsoe's defense is definitely not $53 million better.

I agree that Bledsoe was sold as a much better defender than was the case. He is an okay defender but not nearly as good as the media claimed he was. He gambled a lot for steals and did okay fighting through screens.

Maybe this all works out for Bledsoe but his agent hasn't really done him any favors this off season. Philly is the only team besides the Suns with more than 11mill or so to offer anyone. If he wants more than that he better pray Philly is willing to offer him it.

There really is no one that is gonna pay him more than that, no one has cap space and we aren't gonna sign and trade him without significant assets in return. His only leverage is really taking the qualifying offer and with his injury history there is no way he does that. 4/48 is what Lowry got and that seems fair to me.
Let's just make it 4/50 and call it a day. Love the avatar pic, btw.

Thanks! 4/50 sounds great to me. I really don't know what leverage bledsoe or his agent thinks they have that they can get 5/84. I'd offer something around 4/50 then tell him he can go try and get a bigger contract and that we will match what anyone else is willing to pay. My guess is he can't find anyone who is willing and has the cap space to offer that.

He couldn't make it in Brooklyn with KG holding him accountable.

It's time to seriously start considering S&T. I'm sure the suns have already, but who in the hell besides Milwaukee is going to sigh EB?

If it is Milwaukee A deal invilving picks and Henson is something I definitely would be interested in

Seems like Philly is the only team that can offer more than 4/48. And they have no interest in winning.
They're going to sit on their cap space for another year at the least. I feel like the Suns will match anything up to 4/55 range. That's why they haven't signed any offer sheets. Basically he either takes the 4/48 of the qualifying offer at this point. Or we sign and trade him, but we'd be in the driver's seat as far as assets coming back to us.

Shavlik is not that bad c'mon

he's decent at his role, big man off the bench fodder :)

also I love having him on the Suns since I know the dude from when I lived in Raleigh for a bit, we graduated together from Needham Broughton.

Fun fact, same high school Pete Maravich went too.. and it was the same high school that cut John Wall for attitude problems, lol

yea his agent is going to ruin this dude's future if he's not care, if he passes on a long term deal and signes the 3.7mil qualifying offer and gets hurt again, he will never see a huge offer again.

Be smart, sign the deal Eric, your not even wroth the 4/48 that they are offering, thats all based on potential. Isaiah Thomas is more proven in the league then Eric is and he is not delusional.

Wow. He's "decent" at being "fodder." High praise.

I could name 10 free agent big men is rather have at the minimum. Gustavo Ayon, Udoh, Dante Cunningham, etc.

I once played pickup ball with Shavlik in Central Park.

I like Bledsoe and would rather keep him, but if he wants that much, let's show him the door. Maybe I'd do an S&T but I don't want to take on tons of salary, either. Maybe a team will S&T us a decent PF for him? (Remember, it has to be a team where he WANTS to play to make an S&T work. No Minnesota for Love deals here.)
