I don’t think we’d need to trade the first pick. I think Jackson, Chriss, our own unprotected in 2019 and Miami’s unprotected in 2021 should be more than enough.
I wouldn’t pull that trade unless Kawhi signs an extension, and not one with an opt out in the first two years.
I agree. I think the Spurs hope for a decent return on Kawhi took a huge fall once it became known that he wants out AND he wants to be a laker.
If I’m the Spurs, I’m calling the Clippers and cut my losses with a Jordan-Khawi swap that let me dump Patty Mills on them as well, Jordan is both a high quality player and a free agent next summer, and an Aldrige-Jordan pairing is totally old school, but they can make it work, and in full Spurs’ style, retain him at a discount price.
“Do you want L.A.? Granted!! Enjoy Clipperland you traitor!!! (Game of zones already doing the script)
Re: With the FIRST pick in the 2018 NBA draft, the Phoenix Suns select...
If Kawhi agrees to an extension with the Suns, then it’s a no brainer to trade #1 for him.
DeAndre Ayton can’t dream of becoming the player that Kawhi Leonard he is.
Even despite being 5-6 inches shorter, Kawhi is probably a better defender, rim protector and help defender than Ayton.
Can't dream? Boy you're coming up with all kinds of crazy absolutes today. If Ayton wins an MVP, he will still never be close to the omnipotent being Kawhi is? What's next?
Don’t make me laugh.
Re: With the FIRST pick in the 2018 NBA draft, the Phoenix Suns select...
Why would anybody trade the #1 pick on a rookie contract for a player who has one year left on his contract (at $20 million), reportedly wants to sign with a division rival as a free agent and may have sat out while healthy in order to force a trade?
Suns fans would run McD out of town on a rail if he traded the #1 pick for a Kawhi one year rental.

UT. You are wrong on this one. This is a fantastic draft. I do believe a future MVP will come out of this draft, maybe 2. Kahwi is not an MVP of anything yet, and how he is an injury risk. JJJr and Bamba are both future potential DPOY candidates.

My same thoughts... He also says Atlanta wants Trae and while they are trying to trade down and draft him, they'll take him at 3 if they can't find a deal.
Some people think he's legit, but I wouldn't take his word as truth... He could easily be a troll, I haven't looked at enough of his breaking news to see if he's just guessing or actually getting things right.
His latest if you're interested...

I don't think a #1 / Kawhi trade makes sense for either side. The price is high, and Kawhi is a 1-year rental who wants to play in a big market such as LA.
I am on record as saying that we should have traded for Kyrie Irving, which sounds like a similar situation. But that one has some important differences to this one:
- Kyrie had 2 years on his deal, not 1
- Kyrie wanted out of Cleveland because they tried to trade him, he didn't sit out and pout and force his way off the team
- Kyrie fills a position of more need for us
- Kyrie wasn't going to be paid as much as Kawhi will be

Never heard of Draft God but they come up with some bullshit obvious articles.
Hornets want to trade Kemba for an extra pick? No shit. Everyone knows Kemba is gonna after this year, If you can trade him for a great pick then why wouldn’t you?
Doncic goes to 2 to the Kings? Yeah, never saw that coming.
