I gotta say, seeing the Lakers tether the future of their franchise to 40-year-old Lebron and his not-NBA-ready son is bringing me great schadenfreude. I love it. Can't wait to see them fighting for 12th place in the West next season.
I wonder if the multi years are tied to however long LeBron sticks around. I don't know why they are so against the GLeague and getting him regular PT against grown professionals, no way he gets regular PT on that team.

He can still play in the g league on a regular contract…I fully expect him to spend most of the year in the g league.

I thought Rich Paul was against that? Maybe I'm mistaken.
He was against a 2-way contract…he didn’t say anything about playing in the g league though

Presser from earlier. Starts around the 3 minute mark. Pretty standard stuff, both guys came off really well. Jones talked about getting younger, more athletic, more dynamic in the draft. Knew they'd be able to trade around the draft and were able to get both guys they wanted. Oso talked about the pro style NBA offense at Marquette, being a connector with his ball skills and playmaking. Dunn played a slower offense at Virginia so he's just about finding his role, getting up and down the floor with his energy and speed.

Cool to see James Jones genuinely excited about adding youth to the roster and these two in particular. Starting to think Sarver was the bottleneck in this regard.

You think so? You think lebron had LA draft him to play away from his son?

Yes I think they want to win still and Bronny isn’t going to be a regular rotation player. They’ll want him to develop.
It would be very stupid if they stuck him on the team and only let him play garbage minutes all season. He needs minutes to develop. He’ll be with the team and get opportunities to play with his dad, but most of it needs to be development time in the G league.

That makes sense, but I don't know if it'll happen. He'll probably be in the g-league at some point, but I think most of his season will be on the end of the Lakers bench.

maybe I’m overestimating how competitive LeBron and the Lakers want to be…and how invested they are in actually developing Bronny…maybe LeBron just simply wants to play with his son as much as possible. To me, the smart thing would be to send him down to the G league and pick and choose times to call him up(like when the g league team has a thin schedule/lakers have a busy schedule) so he can still play with Lebron at times.
