Annnnd... that's why he's still playing. Lol.
I don't think so. I think he still loves to play. Nice bene though.
Agreed. Contrary to what was said (or implied) during his prime, turns out Vince actually loves the game.

Re. 9years $72.5M: rookie contract, guys.
Yeah, his first contract as a star was the rookie deal and his first contract post stardum was a 5 year max starting at the age of 31, sort of like what NYK game Amare. (We paid Vinces 2 most most expensive seasons.)

But you've hit the more interesting part of the story, to me. The media narrative around his has reversed as the years go on. He was a loser and didn't play hard and didn't care about the game, etc, etc. Now he's a mentor and a leader and the best teammate in the nba.

Absolutely. You get the feeling they're tempted to do something really stupid.

Wow, I really don't like that move for Boston. Avery Bradley was a very good and important player for them. Who do they start at SG now? They lost their best on-ball perimeter defender. Hayward is a nice player, but if they have to send out a player as good as Bradley to get him, did they really get any better?

I thought I heard that the Celtics want to do a sign and trade with Utah, and since they now have too many SFs, maybe they send Crowder to the West. I also heard that they have to get rid of 3 guys, so I wouldn't be surprised if they still send Smart away in a trade. (I don't know if what I heard was true or not)

I really do not understand why Danny Ainge is so highly regarded as a GM. They have had plenty of money to spend in free agency as well as great draft picks. I would rather have our roster than theirs.

They could be one injury away from not making the playoffs. Without IT last year where would they have been. I totally respect IT but I just don't see him as a franchise type player. He has proved everyone wrong thus far I hope for his sake he keeps it up but he is just too small and the physical wear and tear has to catch up to him, it is just a matter of when.

There are only two players I would want on the Suns Tatum and Hayward. However I am just fine with Booker and Jackson at this point.

They have a good roster that's ready to compete right now and still are able to inject some young blood to keep it going. I do like the Suns roster a little more, but fully realize that they aren't on the Celtics level and ready to compete yet. This is a stark difference from where we were 3 years ago. At that time, I didn't think the Suns roster was as good as anyone else's roster.

KCP was renounced by the Pistons. That's big imo. He will immediately be hugely popular in free agency.

Yeah, interesting choice by both teams. BOS gets rid of their best on ball defender and acquires Marcus Morris to boot. DET decides to get rid of Marcus and KP so they can bet on a guy that will be an UFA in a year.

Roster wise, totally agree, but Brad Stevens is a hell of a coach, while Tyronne Lue is... Lebron's buddy. Not enough to close the gap, but still you have to factor this into the discussion.

I don't really like what Boston has done this offseason. I like Hayward, but I don't think he pushes them over the top. And they lose Bradley, a dogged defender and Celtics lifer. That is a step back. Plus, they had a golden opportunity to get rid of Isaiah Thomas and upgrade to Fultz, but they trade it for Tatum and a future pick. Now they'll have to give a nine-figure contract to IT and bet the farm on him as their lead guard for the next 5 years. Bleh.

I'm with you. Gimme Fultz/Hayward/Bradley over Thomas/Hayward/Tatum.

About the Bradley trade: Ainge doesn't want to have to pay Avery. Simple as that. He is aiming for a superteam and he won't be able to assemble it if he has to give Bradley $17-20M per, so he is cutting his loses early while getting one of the biggest bargains in the whole league. Hate him all you want, but 4M per for Marcus Morris is outstading value.

He cant build a super team though, LeBron or KD isnt going there, Steph/Kawhi arent available. Boogie and IT again? Nah. So unless Billie King returns, he's gonna be doing what he's doing now, hoping for the best.

Hoping for the best is pretty close to the mark. He hopes one of his draft picks becomes a once in a generation transcendent talent.

Well here's hoping he doesnt end up with Porter Jr, Bamba, or Ayton next off season

Well, he drafted the next Len Bias last year(RIP), the next PP this year, and maybe he gets the next Bill Russell or add Doncic to that group and call him the next Larry Bird.

There is talk that they could abolish the 1 and done rule, would that also add Bagley and Williamson to that group.
