The short roll floater/push shot in the lane is his bread and butter. It just doesn't look like he's worked on any other shot or shooting form outside of that push shot. I don't know how effective that 3pt shot will be with the release coming from his chest. He looks like a little kid heaving up those 3s.

I think he should only be shooting that if he’s wide open.
Channing Frye he is not.

He’s probably a long ways from trying it in a game

The more and more I see of Ighodaro, the more and more I see Boris Diaw. The IQ, underrated defense, role as a slightly undersized center, PG from PF role, etc.

I even see some of the hesitancy to take it up and slam the ball home. Consider how many of his highlights are below the rim, i.e., hooks, floaters, layups. Yet, every once in a while, you see him going up through traffic and doing an Amare-esque (post-microfracture) turnaround slam. And I read this:

Vertical spacing was sorely missed in Phoenix last year, but Ighodaro’s leaping ability will provide that component on rim dives, especially as a guy who recorded a 39.5-inch max vertical leap and a combine-best 35-inch standing vertical at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine. He runs the floor hard in transition too, which should help a Suns squad that needed an injection of youthful energy from time to time.

So, I'm expecting him to play exactly like Boris Diaw with a better work ethic. Putting him in the high- or low-post and surrounding him with elite shooters is a great first option or a second option (i.e., like Nash with Diaw).

There are limitations -- he's just a bit stiff like a big man rather than a SF, and once again, he doesn't seem to like contact just like Diaw. But I think he's a steal at 40 if used correctly as a post passer and playmaker. I can see him and Grayson being a deadly combo kind of like Diaw and Barbosa. A Grayson-Oso PnR could indeed be the second unit offense that we've needed.

Now...if Nurkic could actually shoot...

Diaw's ball skills and footwork were light years ahead of Oso's at around the same age.

Yeah, you are right, more so the fluidity than the ball handling if you ask me. But it shouldn't affect Oso in the right role.

I see him as the love child of Draymond and Jokić; and that's not a joke.
Better than Draymond because of size; but not as good as Jokić because of lack of bulk/finesse/SHOOTING

This optimism of his ceiling is why I'm pimping him so hard

Yeah, that Oso jump shot is painful to watch.

Was your signature meant for the Suns? 1 out of 11 isn't bad. And DeRozan for the minimum was a pipe dream.

Calf injuries are not good. They have a habit of lingering and/or recurring. It’s hard to overstate how much I would prefer Durant sitting out the Olympics.
