A place for fans of the Phoenix Suns

I'm not defending Ayton in some weird white knight sense like you think I am. You make it out like he's some finesse weenie and ANYONE who has seen him play will tell you otherwise. You dont shoot 61% being soft, he got to the line 5.5 per game, I don't see the problem here, the kid only averaged 13 shots per contest. That 1.5 fta per game he's missing is real big issue I guess. You spend your time trying to drag him down because he's not your favorite prospect, he's not mine either, I have him behind both Doncic and Bamba, but I can see the positives, you cannot. His warts are on the defensive end, nobody denies that, you are going out of your way to nitpick his offensive game, which is insane, he had like a 130 ORtg, gimme a break. Godspeed, enjoy your delusions.UglyTruth wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 2:21 amYou'll come up with anything to defend Ayton. Such a terrible argument that you make in which you're basically saying that he doesn't draw fouls because he doesn't play like Len or doesn't draw fouls because he's a good FT shooter that doesn't deal with hack a player.TheOriginalOriginal wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 2:12 amYou're*UglyTruth wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 2:06 amSo your saying that's the only way for bigs to draw fouls (unless its hack-a-player)?TheOriginalOriginal wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 1:55 amDid you see me say that anywhere? I stated pretty clearly why I think he didn't draw a ton of fouls. Would you rather he catch the ball and gather himself, drop the ball below his waist ala Len and try to draw a foul?
I am putting you back on ignore, never should've taken you off. Ignorance.
What about Embiid? He doesn't play like Alex ****** Len and is a damn good FT shooter and draws 7 FTs a game. Or Cousins? Or Davis? Or idk, the many, many others?
Reason is he doesn't play physical and through the contact like them. His game is more finesse than power. Almost too finesse for a guy his size.
Don't use these weak examples to make your point. Admit that Ayton isn't a perfect player and has flaws (just like Doncic, Bamba and every other player in the draft). If you can't respond with good counter arguments then yeah putting me on ignore is your best option.
Nitpick his offensive game? Find me anothe post in which I said anything bad about his offense besides this about his FT shooting...TheOriginalOriginal wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 2:56 amI'm not defending Ayton in some weird white knight sense like you think I am. In my experience, if the bill is that large, gratuity is usually included, but it sounds like this wasn't the case as she put him on blast.Vladimir_Taltos wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 6:23 amI hate to tell her, but Ayton should not have yet received a multi million dollar pay day. Granted, if your charging $300 on a bar/food bill, that's one thing...but if you're going to do that, a decent tip should follow...
He may have already received that $100k pay day from Arizona though...Vladimir_Taltos wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 6:23 amI hate to tell her, but Ayton should not have yet received a multi million dollar pay day. I don't think so. You stated it as fact.UglyTruth wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 1:29 amWhoops, I forgot. I don't think I've ever had this much cognitive dissonance with the draft before.
If you want the Suns to have a player who racks up a lot of personal accolades and highlight plays in mostly losses (some call this empty stats) then no.
Would it help if I just included that in my sig since it's not obvious enough on a message forum that unless something is being stated as factual, it's an opinion?
You can't compare NBA player foul rates to one year of a player's college career. It's different officiating and a different play style. I don't imagine that Ayton will get fouled less than most other bigs in the NBA. I like that he takes the ball strong to the hoop and that hack-an-Ayton won't be a possibility.UglyTruth wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 2:21 amYou'll come up with anything to defend Ayton. Well if I put “everything above is my opinion unless explicitly stated as fact” in my sig then that could solve everything....Superbone wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 8:23 amI don't think so. We have disagreements and sometimes feel strongly about them. I don’t see a lot of posts crossing the bounds of civility.Aztec Sunsfan wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 8:47 amWe got the freaking Nº1 Pick overall in a quality draft, and still going at each other’s throats.
