What I’ve seen lately from people who should be in the know:
It seems like LaMelo is going 1 overall unless Charlotte moves up for Wiseman.
Toppin won’t get past the Knicks at 8. Though they’d love to move up for LaMelo.
Haliburton is going high.
Washington will take Okungwu if he’s there.
Patrick Williams has jumped into the top 10.
Everyone considers Edwards a top 3 prospect, but everyone is afraid to draft him.
My guess right now:
1. Min -Ball
2. GS - Wiseman
3. Cha- Edwards
4. Chi - Haliburton
5. Cle - Avdija
6. Atl - Okoro
7. Det- Williams
8. NY - Toppin
9. Wash - Okungwu
10. PHX - Hayes

Yea all of that seems pretty accurate.

Would love to get Hayes. I would consider the draft a great success if it plays out like that.

Good article on why Patrick Williams may go in the top 10, and what the risk is. It also mentions an island where I own a vacation home.
https://www.theringer.com/nba/2020/11/1 ... rida-state
“I think everyone in the NBA wants [Williams] to be good because we all need players like him,” said one NBA scouting director. “You want to take a chance on someone who at least has a chance to be valuable, especially in a draft like this. But he still has to prove that he’s actually good.”
When you ask around the NBA about memorable predraft workouts, Dragan Bender’s name inevitably comes up. Bender, whom the Suns drafted with the fourth overall pick in 2016, was even less of a known commodity than Williams. He averaged 2.1 points in 10.6 minutes per game in his final season in Europe before coming over.
The intrigue with Bender, like Williams, was based on what he might do in a bigger role. Not many 7-footers possess his combination of shooting touch and perimeter skill. His shooting display in a one-on-zero workout in Phoenix has become the stuff of legend. According to multiple sources, Bender hardly missed a shot for almost 90 minutes, blowing away Suns owner Robert Sarver, who watched from the sidelines.
Many owners want to see prospects work out before giving them millions of dollars. But they don’t always know what to look for. What happened with Bender, who burned out of the NBA after four unremarkable seasons, is the worst-case scenario. The holes in his game—lack of physicality, inability to defend at a high level, and confidence issues—didn’t appear in that type of setting.

You guys still on Bender Island are crazy to me, haha...granted I still own property on Chriss Cove, but at least he’s actually producing in nba games.
Bender IMO is the worst draft pick we’ve made that I was around for. Based on how high he went and what he was in the nba. I could be talked into Josh Jackson if you factor in strength of draft. But Jackson still has a shot at being an nba player.

When you look at realistic other options people knew would be good taken right after us, Josh is the worst pick (but I agree it is close). Literally anyone taken after Josh in the lottery would have been a better pick, with the possible exception of Ntilikina.
I guess same could be said of Bender with 1 or 2 exceptions...
Both were awful, awful picks.

The Bender/Chriss was weak in general. I probably would've traded back or out of that draft all together. Sabonis was the only one I really liked but I wasn't sure about his fit here with the team with Chandler and Len up front. Not that they should've been a factor at that point.
Jackson was bad because Fox was right there for the taking and would've solidified our backcourt for the next decade.
And really, we need to keep Sarver out of draft workouts and really out of the draft process altogether.

Patrick Williams I think but 4-10 is pretty fluid. Williams has been on the rise apparently but it could be anyone from Deni to Obi to Hayes to Hali or Okongwu. It just doesn't seem like any team is really in love with anyone.

If I were ATL I wouldn't touch #6 for Culver+#17. Unless he makes a major jump in his second season, Culver doesn't help them compete, which they supposedly want. Hard pass.

I'd be happy with Nesmith at #10.

Tbh, I would be highly skeptical of that pick. I don't like it that he makes Kelly Oubre look like a Steve Nash level of a passer. 1:2 Assist to Turnover ratio, and he's going to come to Phx and be expected to move the ball as a 4th or 5th option? Skeptical

I wouldn't expect him to
move the ball. That's not his game, just like I wouldn't be expeting him to come in and dunk over poeple. But his shooting would create gravity and he defends. He is not my only 'realistic' target (Jalen Smith, Patrick Williams, Kira) but I believe we can do a lot worse at 10, especially if Oubre is traded.

I remember Gambo and Burns doing somersaults over that draft thinking McDonough killed it. Whoopsie.

Not just them. There were TONS of people here that thought it was great. I could be wrong, but I thought the majority of this site thought the consensus pick at 4 was Bender.

I think he was for the most part. I wasn’t a Bender fan, but I did want Chriss at 4. Well in reality I wanted Hield but I knew we weren’t taking him.
Pretty sure Inf gave that draft an F, so he got it right.
