Maybe the clip gets posted later but Windhorst was on PTI talking about the Suns and Butler (paraphrasing):
Suns are chasing Butler and Butler is interested in the Suns, Suns are working every day to try and make it happen. Said the 1 for 3 draft pick trade was one of the strangest deals he's seen. Compared it to changing a $20 for two $5s and a $10 but they really need a $50. Doesn't think the Suns are anywhere close enough to pulling off a deal. Implication is that the trade made it seem like a Butler deal is close but it's not. Doesn't think the Suns have enough to send Beal with a no trade clause somewhere and also go get Butler.
Won't rule it out but skeptical they can pull it off.
Sounds like some last second hard ball.

The Heat have engaged in conversations to move him. This has become on untenable situation. In the words of some of their coaches & players; a distraction, chaos. There’s an uneasy feeling in the air in Miami right now around Jimmy Butler.

Both Butler and the Heat org (Riley) come off looking like asses in this situation. Not a great look for either of them; neither can be said to be taking the high road.

When was the last time we saw anybody take the high road in NBA news?

What if I told you that I had initially read that as the prettiest league in all of sports?

I'd say you don't watch the NFL.

Is it possible tho that anybody taking the high road isn’t newsworthy anymore?

Trade falling apart…honestly I’m good with that…just take those 3 new picks and rebuild.

Lavine to Milwaukee, Beal to Chicago, Butler to Phoenix, Portis/Middleton to Miami...or something.

I’d still love to turn one of those firsts into three or four seconds and use one or two of them to move Nurk and possibly shed some salary in the process, and then actually use the others.

Ya sounds like that might be what the 5 team outline is…Detroit or Toronto taking on salary to get Milwaukee under the apron.

Think we are probably trying to hold onto a pick…either to use or to dump Nurk…but teams are playing their cards to get them from us.

Lmao
We don’t have until the deadline to get something done. We are drowning. If you can’t get it done by the weekend, I’d move on as much asI hate to say that.

So, what the hell did we trade our unprotected 2031 first for? Shits and giggles?

There’s definitely a plan. Could be teams just last second cold feet or last second strong arm to get more. There’s too much smoke for me to believe multiple teams were just winging it.
I still 100 percent think Beal is gone. I guess it’s a matter who blinks first.
