https://twitter.com/sbordow/status/1013153445501472768 Just no space...can't use up money and a roster spot for someone who could be a backup PG at best...I loved the pick when we drafted him, thought he figure out how to shoot better than he has. Hope he finds a landing spot somewhere.
I'll never forget the game winner versus Boston.
Medical science continues to make more progress in prolonging life than in postponing senescence, so you can probably look forward not only to forgetting Ulis’s game winner, but also to forgetting that I told you that you would forget, so I won’t even get to say I told you so.

What's your guys hesitation's with Aaron Gordon?
He hasn't had a good season yet.
18/8 is pretty good for 22 years old
And he almost got those numbers!

His scoring looks to me like empty numbers on a bad team.

Aaron Gordon would be an EXCELLENT fit here as a young big man who stretches the floor and plays adequate defense. VanFleet / Booker/Bridges/ Gordon/ Ayton is the sort of line up that would make the playoffs maybe this year, definitely next.
Dragan Bender is already a better shooter and defender than Gordon. But if you want someone who will create his own low percentage shots, AG is your guy.

I honestly feel like at 12:01 we'll see a tweet from Woj or Shams saying we've signed Aaron Gordon to a max offer sheet.

Im confused why--most of the momentum seems to be towards VanVleet. Are you just feeling that would be in line with what our FO tends to do?

Pretty much. Also, unless he's rope-a-doping McDs said he wants to target a stretch PF who can play D in free agency. I don't get giving FVV that kind of money as I don't think he's a starter. What do I know tho.

Sorry for rounding a couple tenths...

So his scoring is basically what every non Suns fan says about Booker's scoring? I think he was forced to take bad shots and create his own offense because Orlando had no one else who could. He'd look a lot better with good teammates.

About as much as literally everyone else on this board, except for the burner accounts.

I don't think that's true. Aaron Gordon was a 39% shooter on catch and shoot 3's. His numbers go down because he shot 21% on pull up 3's. We would not have Aaron Gordon taking pull up 3's. And there is zero evidence that Bender is a better defender. Gordon hasn't been as expected defensively, but he's better than Bender.

I heard that Gordon wants something like 29 million a year right now. I think he is a great player, but thats too much to pay when the team has a bigger need at point guard.
I think his max is 25 million...that still seems high, but 20-22 million seems right, not sure that gets it done though.
Yeah, I think Indiana's offer of a 4yr/$80 million contract is fair. No way do you give him the max. Just a flat $20 million a year.

Yep, 4/80 sounds good. I think Orlando matches that though

I think Gordon's the bad kind of tweener.
If this was 1994, I'd agree. But in today's game Gordon is a 4.

I love Aaron Gordon the prospect, but Aaron Gordon the player has been underwhelming. He has so many great tools: solid handle, great wingspan, elite athleticism, above average passing ability. But he is still putting it all together, and, ultimately, he may never get there. He is still learning to be an effective offensive player. Right now his shot has gotten better every year, but it is still a work in progress. His shot selection, unfortunately, is even worse.

His rebounding is getting better, but still needs to improve. He has the tools to be an impact player on defense, but so far it hasn't happened. We can tell ourselves he is only 22, but it is hardly a lock that he will get better.

As long as we are not talking about giving him a max deal, I'm fine with a sign & trade that brings him here and ships Chriss + Warren out. It isn't a great move, but it has some upside, and Ryan could certainly do worse.

I like Dinwiddie but is he more than a shot maker? Could he run our offense?
Averaged 6.6 apg to 1.6 tpg. That's over a 4 to 1 assist to turnover ratio.
Sounds good to me. I guess good passes don't make highlight reels. I watched his top 10 highlights from this last season and it was him hitting a bunch of buzzer beaters and bombs. What would it take to get him?
The deal I proposed. ;)
