Boebert escorted out of Denver theater during ‘Beetlejuice’ performance: report
https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing ... ce-report/
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) was escorted out of a Denver theater in the middle of a performance of the musical “Beetlejuice” Sunday night for allegedly “causing a disturbance,” according to a report in The Denver Post on Tuesday.

The incident report, which did not include any names, said two patrons were asked to leave the theater about five minutes after the second act began of the touring Broadway musical “Beetlejuice.” It claimed the two patrons were vaping, singing, recording and “causing a disturbance.”

“They told me they would not leave. I told them that they need to leave the theater and if they do not, they will be trespassing. The patrons said they would not leave. I told them I would [be] going to get Denver Police. They said go get them,” an usher said in the incident report, according to The Denver Post.

Police reportedly arrived and stayed in the lobby until the two patrons left.

Way to go, LB, standing up for your right to ruin the experience for the rest of the audience. Real American values.

There is no Dem thread so here is an interesting scandal that should be an HBO movie some day.

Virginia Democratic candidate denounces sharing of sex tapes: ‘It won’t intimidate me’
https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4 ... midate-me/
A Democratic candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates on Tuesday denounced the “illegal invasion” of her privacy after videos surfaced showing that she and her husband performed sex acts on live video.

The Washington Post first reported on the undated pornographic videos. According to that report, Gibson and her husband asked viewers to pay for the performance of certain sex acts, and the footage was archived on other websites before an unnamed Republican operative flagged them to the outlet.

Great. A Democrat is going to be torpedoed for having sex with her own husband, while Trump fucking Stormy Daniels is a nonissue.

Men are supposed to have sex. Women aren’t.

I feel like trumps antics have given everyone else a pass to be a politician…. Tax evasion? You can be president! Rape? Here’s the keys to the kingdom!

It depends on the party. Bad behavior is shunned on the Dem side. Bad behavior is celebrated on the GOP side. Al Frankenstein had to leave office because he was busted taking a picture of him pretending to grope a woman from afar. Trump has dozens of sexual assault accusations against him, loses a rape case and raises millions of it in donations.

Mitt Romney decides he won’t run again because his party has gone off the rails.

Mitt Romney’s startling but familiar concession: The demagogues have won
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/other/mi ... r-AA1gG11J
Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah announced Wednesday that his political career will come to an end after the 2024 election. Romney, a former governor and the 2012 GOP presidential nominee, declined to seek a second term in the Senate.

The move is a familiar one — a prominent Republican gathering the courage to arrest his party’s drift toward Trumpism and then, when the next election comes around, heading for the exits.

“It’s pretty clear that the party is inclined to a populist demagogue message.”

“A very large portion of my party,” he told Coppins a few months after Jan. 6, “really doesn’t believe in the Constitution.”

Great. So all the Republicans that get it are leaving the party. That’s how you ruin the country.

I don't think it's Mitt's fault that the rest of the party has gone insane. It doesn't seem like he can fix the party from inside, and he wouldn't be re-elected if he ran, so I don't mind him stepping down. The GOP needs to die, so having people leave it can only help push it toward withering and ceasing to exist.

Cheney, kinzinger too…. Great republicans also who got rode out by MAGA. I get it…. It has to be exhausting trying to swim upstream constantly against your own party.

I F’ING HATE this two party bullshit….. trying to say everything is either black or white is bullshit. I get tired of the quid pro quo with these parties when you’re supposed to be serving their constituents best wishes, not the party’s.

Jeff Flake, McCain as well. McCain died but he is in that same group of Republicans called RHINO’s. He would have been destroyed by Maga.

Arkansas governor Sarah Huckabee-Sanders office under investigation for corruption. Among other things, they seem to have been listing purchases for exorbitant sums that are drawing suspicion. In particular, Sanders is alleged to have paid $20,000 of state money on flights and gifts to a friend, but then falsely claimed it was to buy a new podium. Then, when questioned on this, Sanders seems to have rapidly bought a $700 podium on Amazon; lol.

Don't know what thread to put this in. It sounds like they have agreed to avert a government shutdown? I'm glad to hear that. The whole shutdown crap is so completely stupid and harmful.
