ICYMI, Kenny Lofton Jr. (yes, that Kenny Lofton) is playing for the Grizzlies Summer League team, and he's a thicc boi. 6'6", 280lbs.
He's gonna win MVP in a random league abroad someday.

Was trying to figure out how the tiny baseball playing Kenny Lofton fathered a 6’6 280 lb basketball player and it doesn’t look like they are actually related.

I can't keep track of how "tied our hands are" when it comes to acquisitions and obviously just adding bare minimum guys would tell me that our flexibility isn't great right now.
Either way, couple other players I like as two young guys I believe have good potential been in today's transactions

We can only add minimum contracts or use our TPMLE (~6.5M). Or do we have the biannual exception, too?

I've been a life long Whiteside hater, but he was actually serviceable last year in Utah. I would still never trust him in a playoff game.
He has been serviceable his whole career. I don't like his game either, but he has been a rebounding/shot-blocking machine pretty consistently. His game has warts, but at the very least it has been serviceable.

I liked what I saw from him during the combine games.

I really wanted James Jones to go after Kenny Lofton Jr. as an undrafted FA, but alas...he doesn't like young players. It felt like there was no downside on taking a chance on him. Just looks a lot like Barkley with his movement and moves, just a bit bigger and could lose a bit of fat.

I see these random players like Lofton Jr and I find myself really wishing the Suns had any sort of eye for young talent coming out of college. There are a few diamonds in the rough every year, or guys with potential who might stick on a roster. A contending team doesn't always have many options to add cheap talent, and grabbing undrafted players or two-way guys is a great way to do it. But I guess James Jones isn't very interested in such things.

It's not like Lofton Jr hasn't been on the radar. He was co-MVP with Holmgren on the Team USA U19 team last yr that won the gold. He was killing it on that team, even though it had Jaden Ivy and Holmgren.

‘Toxic’ Trail Blazers owner Jody Allen should sell team, say insiders
She has also refused to talk to Blazers star player Damian Lillard, who reportedly has had issues with the way the team is being run, the team source claimed.
“Damian wanted to sit down and have a conversation with Jody about the team and she didn’t return his call. Then he tried to email her. Eventually she just never responded and put him in touch with Bert,” the source alleged. “When you own a team, there are critical key decisions to make and you should be the one involved in making the decisions.”

I will not overreact to Summer League.
I will not overreact to Summer League.
I will not overreact to Summer League.
Couldn't even make it through his first Summer League game. This is a full on trend with Sharpe now and I'm growing increasingly skeptical of him sticking in the league.
