So Donald Trump had a recent event where he addressed the Obama "birther" conspiracy theory. He claimed that Hillary Clinton started the whole thing in 2008 and that he ended it in 2011. He also said, "Barack Obama was born in the United States, period," then promptly left the event.

Thoughts on the whole issue?

My own take: The entire issue was always a ridiculous conspiracy theory. To blame it on Hillary is ludicrous. He should be ashamed of himself for perpetuating those lies for so many years. Also it is blatant pandering to try to win black votes.

Trump can say anything he wants, retract it, twist it, blame it on someone else, deny he ever said it....and no one will really care. It's a soundbite/twitter world and all that matters is money and ratings. The more controversy, the better.

Trump will never ever take responsibility for any of the dumb things he says. It will always be somebody else's fault.

And half the country doesn't care if he does. They actually support him more because he isn't being "politically correct." I love that it is a bad thing for politicians to be politically correct for half this country. Well, not love. Hate. But you know...
