Place: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK
TV: FSAZ/NBALP
A very tough test Friday night in game two of this young season. Russell Westbrook is a monster and missed a triple double in their first outing by one assist. I don't expect to win this one but hope to see a better overall effort than in game one. I believe we'll see the "kiddie core" quite a bit in this one. We set history in our opener by playing three teenagers in a game. (Bender, Chriss, and Booker (1 more week); Ulis is 20)
Go Suns!!!

I found this on ESPN, to add the full Suns' season into you calendar. Hope it's helpful for someone.

I am really down on OKC. I don't think they are going to make the playoffs this year. Don't like that they will be even more reliant on Westbrook to do everything for them. I think he will ballhog their way to about 38-40 wins. I actually think we may give them a competitive game tonight because our guards are decent defenders. We'll see.

Other than we made Ty Lawson look like a borderline All-Star the other night

We have two guards that can defend. Bledsoe and Tyler. Knight is awful, LB is old and slow, and Booker still doesn't look like he knows where to be.

Looking at our schedule, when does everybody think we'll get our first win? My best guess is Fri, Nov 4 at NO.

Hopefully against the Clippers, realistically I agree that NO would be our best shot, in fact we MUST get a win against NO, or else we are for a pretty brutal stretch in the first 10 games. Before Brooklyn, the Lakers game is the only one were we should be favored, but even this is on their court. We could be at 1-8 or 2-7 before receiving the Nets, but 0-9 is not out of the question...
'Bone, you just ruined my fresh season joy with this question!!!

Ha! Not my intention!

But we do need to be realistic. This team is going to have a lot of ups and downs. I'm just going to try to enjoy our young guys progression and not worry about wins and losses. Anybody expecting us to make the playoffs (I'm looking at you, SDC) is going to be sorely disappointed.

Starting out 0-9 wouldn't be too bad. Maybe we can kill the idea of us making the playoffs right out of the gate. Force the team to realize Bledsoe and Knight are not the future of this team. Maybe get a mid season trade that brings in a vet point guard that actually knows how to distribute the ball. Then spend all season giving the young guys all the minutes they can handle.
I'm just tired of Bledsoe and Knight. Not sure what it is because in the case of Bledsoe he plays pretty decently. I guess there just isn't any excitement with those two guys. It is the same grind of boring Iso's, bad passes, missing the open guy, horrible alley oop attempts, and pull up jumpers that clank off the rim most of the time.

I'm still willing to give Bledsoe some more time. He has earned it this offseason. With Knight, my patience is wearing really thin.

Bledsoe certainly behaves the way you want your star PG to behave. Off the court. But on the court, he just doesn't have what we need. At least, he hasn't shown it in his first 6 years in the league.

All true.

No, but Booker does. We have to have the ball in Booker's hands late in the game. Even if the results are awful early on.

I seriously would start Ulis right now. I really believe with the current roster that he would give us our best chance to win. We have three PGs on the roster right now and Ulis is the only true one of the bunch.

Agreed. But there will be less and less options for Booker's ability to control close, late-game situations if we aren't in close, late-game situations.
I will say this: I like having someone with Bled's personality, community involvement, and dedication to his body on our team. My only issue with him is that he doesn't live up to being a efficient distributor on the court.

Are you thinking he just needs a little over 6 years of NBA experience before he learns to not jump in the air to pass the ball?

We have four, if you count LB.

With Booker, you can argue that he is a 2, and BK is a 1, so he sits. But if you start Tyler, you are broadcasting that you made a huge mistake in signing Bledsoe and Knight to long term deals. And devaluing them across the league.

Yeah, we all know six years and one month is always the turning point for that bad habit.
