they need to give up one of the young players to get the deal done, which players do you keep? and Who is the player you are most willing to part ways with?
TJ Warren
Dragan Bender
Marquese Chriss
Alex Len

Give up Brandon Knight and PJ Tucker for a TRUE power forward.
No more small forwards playing power forward cause the Suns get ate up inside much too much.

The real question to me is "What positions do they have filled moving forward?"
PF - Chriss, Bender
SF - Warren, [vacant]
C - [vacant], Len, Williams
SG - Booker, [vacant]
PG - Bledsoe, Ulis
Between their own and Miami's pick you would hope for at least 2 or 3 top 10 picks over the next few years, plugging a couple of those holes. I think you have to trade Bledsoe, Knight, Chandler and Tucker to acquire players or draft choices to potentially fill the others. This team should be thinking 3 years from now, and I don't see any of them being a contributor here in three years (with the possibility of Bledsoe).

Who do you consider a true PF? The days of inside bangers are dead, everything is stretch 4's and corner 3's.

I think we need a backup to Len - I like Onuaku from Houston.
A long wing to backup Warren and Booker would be nice. Then again, I'm starting to get real worried about TJ. He's looked like a zombie out there of late. Don't know if we have that positioned locked down anymore. Curious to see how extension talks go - should reveal where the FO stands on his injury and how confident TJ is about taking a physical with another team. I hope he gets it together - love his game.
Also, with Duds getting his 4th straight DNP, maybe he's the one on the move rather than PJ. Maybe with Knight, given their chemistry.

In order of willingness to trade:
Guys I want to trade:
Knight, Tucker, Chandler, Bledsoe, Len
Guys that don't really matter:
Jenkins
Guys I'd like to keep, but wouldn't hesitate to move:
Jones Jr, Williams
Guys I don't want to move but could be talked into:
Barbosa, Dudley, Warren
Guys I have no interest in moving unless another team gets crazy:
Ulis, Bender, Chriss, Booker.
So I guess the young guy I'd move is Len, unless Knight still counts as a young guy.

You pretty much have to ask yourself - who can you see potentially becoming a rotation player on a playoff team?
Bender, Booker, Chriss, Len, Uliss, Warren, and maybe Williams (we need to see him play some more).
Then you add three more probably lottery picks in the next two drafts. That would give you 10 prospects 25 years old & under. If you figure a couple don't pan out you still have a pretty good group for building your team around - and on manageable salaries.
So even if you don't grow your own star player, if you can shed Bledsoe and Knight without taking back any onerous contracts and let Dudley, Chandler and Tucker go in trades or as free agents, they would be in good shape for shopping for free agents themselves.

This new CBA is going to make it next to impossible to pry stars from other teams or sign them as Free Agents. I almost think we should cash in Bledsoe, Knight, Tucker and Chandler right now just because. Get as many shots at landing our own star as possible. It's the only way you'll be able to compete. Unless you have a very rich cache of assets and find a star forcing himself out of a place like Chris Paul did you're just not going to get one.

There will always be players who want to switch teams - no CBA is going to change that. We certainly won't be seeing superteams being built that way unless somebody is willing to take less than market value.

From what I've read, this CBA is nearly eliminating the middle class of player. Rookie deals will be worth their weight in gold. There will be far more minimum salaried players. Stars will be paid much more than they have in the past. The difference between what you can get with a different team and what you can get with your current team on a new deal for stars is supposedly so staggering you'd have to be a fool to leave. Whereas right now it was an extra season and a modicum of % difference. I guess we'll see how it plays out, but I think the Durant to Golden State and LeBron to Miami & back type scenarios are over.

Minimum salaries will be going up significantly and teams looking to re-sign their own players will have a significant advantage.
Never say never to a star switching teams, but he'll have to turn down a lot more money to do it.

On the topic of trade seems like there may be some interest from the bulls in knight. Rondos minutes are down are his contract next year only has a partial guarantee
How much do you think they are willing to mortgage their future to win now?
A combination of knight, tucker (throw in Jenkins) works for rondo plus a few of their recent picks ( choose from McDermott, Portis, Denzel, grant depending what the bulls may be willing to part with)

If I'm the Bulls, my thinking has to be maximizing Jimmy Butler's prime. I try to add players who will peak around the same time and consider that my core. Draft picks become less valuable in that sense - rookies are unlikely to contribute much to Jimmy's peak success.
Knight and Bledsoe, however, fit that timeline.
I think the Bulls are one of the few teams who actually *should* value Knight. I think he'd actually work pretty well as part of their puzzle. Now is an opportunity to pick him up on the cheap.
If I'm them, I offer one of the '17 picks and Rondo for Knight, see how close I get. I may even deal Denzel Valentine, given the early bust signs (we may be looking at Mateen Cleaves here, folks).
If I'm the Suns, I try to squeeze a third team in to take whatever the Bulls are willing to add to Rondo and a pick and package that with Chandler or Tucker to see if I can get another future first - even one that's well-protected - or a rotation wing on a long-term deal.

How high are they on McDermott and Portiz?

I suppose there's little reason we shouldn't be willing to accept McDermott/Rondo/'17 1st

I doubt they offer mcdermott and their 1st. I can't imagine it taking more than a 1st plus Rondo. Although I'd love if they included Valentine. He hasn't done anything this year, but I liked him a lot before the draft.
What would we do with Rondo? I can't imagine us having any use for him or him having any desire to play here.

My guess is we'd dump him/buy him out. The bulls wouldnknow this. I think rondo has lost all value as any kind of trade asset. He is just making salaries work. Hence the other chips have to. E worth while

Rondo might be a really bad idea here.
He wants a role bigger than the one we'd be likely to give him, and he could be a problem in the locker room. He seems like a guy whose best days are behind him and who hasn't adjusted very well to the modern NBA. Love his passing but he never did learn how to shoot, and now that some of his athleticism has left him, his defense and his overall game seem to have fallen off too much for him to compensate for his flaws. And last I checked, he still envisions himself as a 35+ minutes a game player who should be leading a team. That has cancer written all over it if you ask me.
He was just playing for a few teams like Dallas and Sacramento that badly wanted a pass-first PG like him and who generally had good coaches, and he couldn't make it work. I doubt we'd be able to incorporate him successfully.

But those "stretch 4's" are still true PF's. Kevin Love, Draymond Green, Serge Ibaka, a healthy Chris Bosh, Boris Diaw, LaMarcus Aldridge (who the Suns would've gotten if it weren't for Darth Popovich), Dirk Nowitski, Karl Anthony Towns, etc.
PJ Tucker and Jared Dudley are really small forwards. Ryan McDonough wants to make it seem like they are PF's but they're not.
ESPN put up an article that the Hawks are checking the trade value for
Paul Millsap. Anyone interested in him ?
