For those still thinking McD hires the coaches.

Watson says he always knew his tenure with the Suns would be short, and he wanted to make the most of that time,
Watson wrote:For us that was player development, creating a certain belief in young players.”
Belief!!!

The article also mentions a Monroe to Cleveland rumor. Monroe for Shumpert and Fry and a pick. Probably nothing to that rumor, but there it is.

If Watson were winning games, he'd still be head coach. The team wasn't prepared. It was clear as day.

Wow didn't realise that this is set up to be a fairly interesting week with those first 3 games. Play Lakers twice with an appearance on TNT in between there , hmmm not to mention on Thursday our game and GSW v BOS are the only two games in the Association that night. Really hope we give a good showing as we know the guys on Inside will be quick to give us a hard time, anyhow getting ahead of myself

The problem is that Houston can make a lot of teams look silly.

What PG would you target at the trade deadline?

Not that we don't need the ping pong balls, but I hate losing to the Lakers.

I wonder what it would take to get Seth Curry from Dallas.

Does jimmer have an NBA out? He's better than Ulis or James.

Not sure who else is available. Beverly once Teodosic is back? Bayless once Fultz is back? Maybe one of Portland's extra PGs like Napier? A package to SA for Murray? I got nothing.

How about the kid from Louisville, Russ Smith, who is ripping it up in China?

We could maybe finish the season with Marbury and then address the position in the summer. We'll have cap room and multiple picks. Marbury ain't great, but he won't cost us any assets or a significant salary.

Bright side had an article discussing this and mentioned Jordan Clarkson. Lakers are trying to clear space and might be interested in a Monroe package.

Does Rose have a 1 year deal? Would we even want him? He might cause too many problems not wanting to play here.

What's Ish Smith up to?

Come on, carey. He didn't make it in the league for a reason. He doesn't play a lick of defense.

And you've kinda got to let him run the show for him to be effective. He needs the ball in his hands and the freedom to put up any shot he wants. It works in college and in China, but he's an inefficient chucker who doesn't create much for others or defend anyone in the NBA. He still might be better than what we've got from James lately though.

Averaging 10 points, 4 assists and shooting 54% from the field in 20 minutes off the bench for Detroit. So not likely available.

Terry Rozier or Tyus Jones.

We currently have the worst PG rotation in the NBA. The Bledsoe trade dropped us below the Knicks and the Bulls.

That's an interesting idea. Clarkson has a reasonable contract and is a good fit next to Booker. He's ideally a 3rd guard, so if we get Doncic in the draft we can move Clarkson to the bench.

Monroe for Clarkson and Brewer (waive) works. Maybe we could squeeze an asset out of the Lakers as well.

I like it, but let’s take it further.

Clarkson and Randle for Monroe and a first. Would like to swap Chriss and a second for the 1st, but if LA bites before the deadline to packaging Monroe with another player kicks in, I would pull the trigger. Also two separate trades with Clarkson+Hart for Monroe and a Randle/Chriss-pick swap works just fine.

Lakers have to decide with Randle this summer, just in the middle of their quest for a big splash in Free Agency. Chriss would allow them to reset their timeline around Ball, in age and rookie scaled contracts, while Monroe allows them to clear the deck for Lebron or/and someone else.

We get set at two positions with the incoming players, and a Booker/Jackson/Randle core rounded up with Warren, Clarkson, Ulis and a developing Bender suddenly looks respectable. If Chriss is still around, pack him with Chandler for Valanciunas and call it a day. No tanking, but we still, as a courtesy from the NBA awarding our 50th anniversary, take an unexpected jump all the way into the 1st selection overall. We nail it with one of those center prospects and send Len to look for his next scholarship else were.

A man can dream.
