Uh, oh. First game of the season against the defending NBA Champion Warriors. Is this when the tough part of the season starts? Cool stat: Elfrid Payton's nine assists were the most for a player making his Suns debut since Stephon Marbury had 10 in 2001.
Go Suns!!!
Dis • cuss

And very nearly the most by a Suns player this season. Ulis had a game of 12 and Book had two games of 10. Elf's 9 put him in a tie for fourth.

I think not even Elfrid Payton can save us in this game. It could get very, very ugly.

Barring an unexpected Norovirus outbreak in the GS locker room, I think this one's out of reach.

Ugly is ok. Very Very ugly is not. I want to see the Suns hustle and compete for 48 minutes, even if the Warriors maintain a comfortable lead.

I can't wait to see what happens once he gets acclimated with the playbook and players.

I can't imagine it getting as ugly as that last Spurs game.

And Booker returns.

Well of course there is, as long as you have the moral flexibility to wage biological warfare on the other team. So many exciting, new possibilities open up when you turn off your morality filter..

I don't think it would have a huge effect on the outcome. I'd love to see what the Payton/Booker/Jackson/Warren/Bender lineup looks like. But I guess I can wait until after the all star break.

I'm thinking 142-128. Warriors win. Klay and Warren both drop 40.
Jackson has a 20/8/4 game. Payton with 12 assists.

OK. I'm only going to watch when the Suns have the ball.

Warriors have been kind of going through the motions lately. I catch some Warriors games though not all. They are still an amazing team, but from night to night they don't seem to show up with that fire to win and dominate every game. Warriors have dropped some surprising games. Certain teams like OKC on a random night will come in really fired up to beat the Warriors and GSW doesn't match their energy. Draymond Green in particular just looks off this year. Have read that it may be conditioning, or maybe he just doesn't have the same fire in his belly now that they've won titles. Or maybe he's tired.
I guess what I'm saying is that relatively speaking, the Warriors are slightly vulnerable during these dog days of the regular season. But we still suck and have very little chance of actually beating them, especially without Booker.

Warriors win by 14--
128-114.
Tonight is the night we start to hear the first grumblings about Payton's play.
