Oh, THAT Fitz. I thought maybe Fizdale was campaigning for the head coaching job.

This means that youth on the bench is going to go away. Goodbye to Ulis, Reed, etc.

It's still a 17 man roster with 2 2-way contracts. Adding a couple of vets doesn't mean that all youth goes away.

Yeah. Because Knight, Chandler, and Dudley have contributed SO much.

$37 million for three players who contribute almost nothing on the court.

Save the cap space for draft picks that pan out.

One guy I’d like to target is Luc Richard Mbah a Moute. He’s not expensive, can hit an open 3 and consistently makes his teams better on D.

My one question about McD's interview is whether he shared anything different this year than he has in past years. Where is the big trade? Where is the big free agent?

I see Ryan as an incredibly cautious risk player that takes south america at the beginning of the game and just hoardes his pieces for several rounds until someone forces him to do something with it. When all players are to a GM are assets, its easy to forget the human component to your players, leading to picking up 2 or 3 players to the same position, or thinking your star player(s) will never jump ship after 4 years of losing (badly).

I haven't heard Sarver take this tone before. Is that resignation about mediocre performance?

Q: What are your expectations for next season?

A: I think with a piece or two and a solid year of development, I think we can flip the switch and end up being a team that can have a winning record. But looking at where we stand right now, there’s a long way to go to get to that.

Maybe just another decade? Ahhhhhh.

I long for the day when draft night isn't the pinnacle of our season(s).

I do like that Sarver seemed realistic. I think he has been worn down and knows that a lot has to happen to turn this thing around.

I do. I think a lot has to happen and go right this off-season. There is a lot of opportunity ahead, but at the same time they have to get a little lucky too.

In case anyone was curious about the 25 under 25 for this year. Booker was tied for 9th with Donovan Mitchell, which... don't make me laugh but whatever.

Booker vs. Mitchell is like comaring Ray Allen to Jason Richardson. Both Allen and Richardson were All-Star level players but they did it in quite different ways.

Edit: Richardson was never an All-Star. My memory was mistaken from the dunk contest flash backs. I think Booker and Mitchell will both make an All-Star team eventually.

Coaches in the top four seeds in the west include Mike D'Antoni, Steve Kerr and Alvin Gentry.

Ten years ago, they were all working for the Suns.

To be fair, Jay Triano could be on that same list if he had the star player(s) that those other coaches have.

What an indictment of our franchise. We have pushed a bunch of good coaches and FO personnel out with our chronic mismanagement of the franchise. #SarverOut
