Thanks for the news week threads all year, Carey!

I think we win one game the rest of the year. Two at most. I think we'll win the next game at home against the Kings. At Dallas to finish the season might be the possible 2nd win.

Also, I'm officially off duty for news threads until next October. I have morphed into baseball-dad for the next 3 months.

https://twitter.com/ZachLowe_NBA/status/981185520133984256 I know many will say there is no chance Spurs trade Kawhi, but I think there is a real possibility. Without health assurances and a signed extension I'd hesitate to include our top pick. But what about Jackson plus both mid 1sts? Is that too much? too little?

If the Spurs are willing to trade Kawhi to us, then I don't want him. They'd know something we don't and would take whatever players we give them and make them HOFers.

Eh, I don't subscribe to the idea that the Spurs are infallible. There are some obvious issues between Kawhi and the Spurs and I'm not just going to assume the Spurs are right. Not everyone is Duncan, Aldridge has had issues there and it looks like Kawhi does too. Pop is a great coach, the Spurs are a great organization, but I don't think Kawhi is Duncan. There are signs he wants something else than the Spurs and pop's system.

. Even better, since re-entering the starting lineup on March 23, Chriss has averaged 14.7 points on 54.7 percent shooting plus 8.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.3 steals, 1.3 blocks and 29.7 minutes in six games.
Chriss might be saving his spot on the roster. If he plays like this, he's a decent prospect.

I would love to have a guy like him, but "preparing to inquire" is no guarantee that Kwahi is on the market.

Sure, but there are some clear indicators that all is not well there

Feels like last year. Meh. Maybe after this he draws more trade interest. Still think he ends up in Orlando.

True, but it shows the talent is there. He just needs to get the mental aspect down and maybe he can start progressing as a talent. If we're drafting or adding another 4/5 to the roster(or 2) we probably have to decide between Bender or Chriss. I was ready to choose Bender a month ago, but Chriss is changing that opinion right now.

That's sad. I was just thinking about him the other day. I know how weird that must sound....

Too little, too late in the season for Chriss. We'll see how his offseason goes and if he comes back looking like retired Shaq.

Chriss is a delicate situation. We don't want to give up on him too quickly. He's got a lot of maturing to do.
