Tsunami Papi is Back! - Kelly Oubre Jr. Signs for 2 Years, $30 Mil

Post by Superbone » Sat Jul 06, 2019 12:05 pm

As far as I know, Dallas is the last team with cap space that could make an offer for Kelly and try to break up the Valley Boyz. I just hope Oubre is relatively happy with what he ends up with (I don't think we'll try to lowball him) and doesn't play the season on the qualifying offer.

I'm thinking 5/80 is what he ends up with.

I’d love a front loaded deal. Something in the 4/60-4/72 range seems fair.

My question too but I was going to use "whom"? :D

ETA: I'm still trying to learn when to use "whom" correctly. Still going by sound. Need to learn the grammatical rules.

Cleveland has the draft rights to Dylan Windler, JR Smith's non-guaranteed deal, and Larry Nance Jr.

Denver has Mason Plumlee, Michael Porter Jr., Juan Hernangomez.

So, you're not a fan of what Oubre brings to this team? Can you please expound on that?

I'm not a fan of him playing for the QO. I want him back, but if his salary demands are too much for the front office, they need to proactively seek a sign & trade.

Gotcha. I don't want him playing for the QO either. What's your top price per year?

Sometimes he looks like a character out of Egyptian mythology to me. Not any specific dude, I just get that impression from his style.

I think he’ll be a steal if we get him in the $14-16 mil per year range. $18 is probably the max I’d go. Plays hard, good defender, improving offensively, fan favorite.

If the Suns were willing to pay him $18 million per year, he would be signed already.

They are obviously lowballing him.

Here we go again. Sigh.

Are we just going to end up pissing off/demotivating someone we need to step up and be a strong contributor? If so, agree on the idea of sign and trade...
