Everyone knows that Jan 6 was an inside job. If they put Gaetz in jail, I will find my faith in the system restored to some degree.

A friend at US government says that the Canadians will toughen immigration restrictions if a surge into Canada materializes. Advice was to do it sooner rather than later (my wife is Canadian).Mori Chu wrote: ↑Sun Jul 10, 2022 5:35 pmThe language barrier would be tough. My liberal brother and his wife and kids have had it with the GOP and are moving to Germany. Hope it works out for them.
I think I would personally move to Canada if I had a choice. English speaking, beautiful, more resilient to climate change, better politics. I think it'd be a good bet.

Any of you following this Alex Jones trial? It's pretty hilarious. The prosecution keeps catching him in blatant lies and he looks like a complete fool. The judge seems like she's about had it, too.
And then of course there's the moment that has now gone viral where they surprise him by telling him that his phone was handed over to the prosecution along with 2 years of his text messages, none deleted or protected. And that several of those messages are him talking about Sandy Hook, despite his saying under oath that he has never texted about it:
One wonders what other treasures are buried in that phone of his.

To preserve the rule of law, ALL of these high profile guys need to be jailed.
Re: The GOP / RNC
Well his lawyer said today that "none of his intimate messages with Roger Stone" are trade secrets (and therefore not protected)... Like why drop his name?!?One wonders what other treasures are buried in that phone of his.

It’s so much easier lying to your supporters on your own show than it is lying to a judge in a courtroom.

AZ should be pretty embarrassed at the kind of GOP candidates they have chosen. Basically they've picked the most loony kooks in each primary, a bunch of election deniers and insurrectionists. You can't run a healthy country if 1/2 of it keeps nominating garbage humans like this for important offices.
Re: The GOP / RNC
If I had to pick one of the GOP front runners to be the governor, it would be Lake. Robson actually knows how to fuck over everyone and would be a Ducey 2.0 but with more connections and more ability to do harm.Cap wrote: ↑Fri Aug 05, 2022 12:04 amThat’s awesome news? I agree with your overall sentiment, but I think you are overly demonizing a huge chunk of humans. There are over 7.2 million people in AZ, and only 337,000 voted to nominate Lake. It isn't 50%, more like <5%.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Fri Aug 05, 2022 8:00 amAZ should be pretty embarrassed at the kind of GOP candidates they have chosen. The issue isn't that too many people are voting for awful candidates, it is that too many people aren't voting (and that is how the awful people want it and can control it).

Put abortion on the ballot and they will show up.
Re: The GOP / RNC
many of them can't because of the disenfranchisement happening across the country.
Re: The GOP / RNC
These elections may seriously impact if I ever Iive even part of the year in AZ in retirement or not.

It's that too few control what our choices are, for one...a positive for open primaries, for example...Indy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 05, 2022 8:52 amI agree with your overall sentiment, but I think you are overly demonizing a huge chunk of humans. The stuff coming out of this GOP CPAC is abhorrent.
