Sup pplz, been gone for a minute but back like I never left
We welcome the Pelicans who been struggling to start the season, everyone knows Zion situation but I believe Ingram missed last game also with a hip issue. The underrated Valanciunas been posting crazy double doubles to start the season and it will be interesting if we don't have DA to keep him off the boards. If Ayton is Out tonight that will also impact our offense so interested to see how things go tonight as we are still only playing well in spurts but not a complete game.
There's also Willie Green maybe knowing our tendencies but regardless this needs to be a win as we look to make the most of this 5 game homestand.
Go Suns !!!

Props for posting, bajang ...
I think the game also is on TNT.
Cameron Payne is out with a sore hamstring. New Orleans is without Zion Williamson and rookie Daulton Hommes. Three other players are game-time decisions. Former Suns assistant Willie Green returns as Pelicans head coach. Let’s hope the crowd gives him a warm welcome, and then the Suns give him a reminder of what he is missing (winning basketball).

Brandon Ingram was downgraded from questionable to doubtful. The Pels gave the Knicks a good game without Ingram, so the Suns shouldn't be overlooking them entirely. NAW and Graham can still fill it up and Valanciunas will be a problem without Ayton.
Also can't underestimate the Willie Green factor. Who knows how much of NBA game planning is a secret anymore, but I'm sure Willie has at least a small bit of knowledge in knowing what the Suns like to do.
The books have the Suns as an 11.5 point favorite, but I'm staying away from that. Too many weird variables with injuries and whatnot, and the Suns don't typically blow out their opponents.

There's no reason for the Suns to lose this game even without Ayton and Payne, and I'm actually glad neither of them is playing tonight with moderate injuries.
This is the Pels first game of three over the next four days, which includes a game in Sacramento tomorrow night. I think the Pels will play hard with energy tonight, so the Suns rotation guys really need to step up. Hopefully McGee doesn't get owned by Valenciunas.

Go Suns!
I wonder if Payne has ever thought about rebuilding that shot…

I definitely don't have any data, but it seems like lefties are less likely to revamp their shooting form. I'd also think that he'd have tried something years ago when he was fighting to stay in the league and the risk isn't worth the reward at this point.

I agree. But I also think guys that revamp their shots are ones who are secure in their position but want to get better or need to get better to get a bigger role/payday. The Lonzo and Kemba types. When Payne was out of the league and kicking around China and G League he probably resorted to what he knew and didn’t have the resources to hire a professional shooting coach to stay in one place for months to recondition himself. I think given the way he shoots he needs much more space than your average shooter and part of his value last year was that near 40% 3fg%…

Gonna be a long season if they don’t figure out everything three point related. Both offense and defense are just pitiful from outside.
Crowder looks extremely slow a foot right now

Not very disciplined so far. Feel like CP3 might be taking the lead in taking his foot off the pedal right now.

Another choppy start. Still not really flowing offensively in the halfcourt. CP doesn't seem to be looking for his midrange shot at all. He and McGee had some nice connections going early. Jae with a few 3s looking good. Mikal's hardly touched the ball.

I think it’s obvious to other teams the game plan. The Suns try to get other players involved early and CP and Book are super passive. Pretty easy to guard when that’s the strategy every game.
Need the stars to set the pace because having the lesser players with the ball in their hands more hasn’t worked out

They're just getting outworked.
Inexcusable effort so far.

Payton seems to be the only one with a pulse. Even if that last shot didn't count.

Elfrid the only one playing with desperation. Not a good omen. This team is stuck in the mud.
