Just from a salary perspective, I think we would need to send Jae and Dario (plus picks). Or maybe Jae + Cam J + Landry.

It says “The Suns have shown interest in recent years.” As in, McD saying “gee, maybe I should have drafted this dude with 1 of the 2 picks I had in that draft.”

Didn't the Suns tank Stix value in a trade by declining his third yr? He's going to be a UFA this summer, right?

that is probably the only reason he has value right now. he is an expiring contract.

I don't think we're talking to the Pacers about Sabonis right now. He's not a fit in the frontcourt.

I don't doubt Stix has value. I think the FO misjudged him and their development of him. He's still got a ton of upside in an athletic, defensive 5 role with some offensive potential. I could see a lot of teams being intrigued. Too bad we don't seem to be one of them.

Yeah, I love Sabonis, but I just don't see how we fit in a non shooting PF/C into our starting lineup.

When Sabonis rumblings first came out over the weekend I was lost as to Why we would do such. I liked him for the draft and we all know we missed back then but getting him now will be a head scratcher for me.

The only way Sabonis comes is if Ayton is going out. Two reasons:

1. Indy isn’t trading Sabonis for role players, expirings, and picks. It would take either Ayton or Mikal for them to listen.

2. Ayton and Sabonis are a terrible fit together. They’d make each other worse. Major pass on my part.

Yeah, I think that's right. I have liked Sabonis a lot over the years and have repeatedly trashed the Suns for not drafting him that year. But now that we've had a few years to see what kind of player he's become, I am starting to think that it'd be hard to have him start for a contender. He isn't a good shooter, especially from 3, and he isn't a great defender. So you can't really play him next to a traditional 5 like Ayton, but he doesn't defend well enough to really be a good fit to start at the 5 himself. I actually think he lowers your ceiling if you are starting him on a contending team. So I wouldn't want him here if we had to give up any real assets to get him.

I think Miles Turner is the much more interesting piece for Indiana. Better shooter and awesome defender. If a team like the Warriors or Bucks or whoever was able to get him, look out.

I’m hoping the Hornets get Turner, he’d be great for them and they aren’t the same threat that Milwaukee or GS is
